Just a thought I had.

SBV posted after the Vandy loss and said that this complicated things. Could it be that this made getting rid of Dooley happen sooner than planned?

And if so, could this have complicated things because - as some have posted - Gruden did not want any word to be released on the UT job.

And why would Gruden not want any info released? Some posters on here said that Gruden could not take another coaching job until a certain date, due to the terms of his severance pay from Tampa Bay.

Hows that for a rumor?

That is a great point Wilson... the ad office did NOT tell me Gruden, the told me Strong...

But the talk is not about Strong...so who else could it be

And those questioning Larry are obviously new to the party. He deserves respect regardless of whether he has the best sources on this one.

Even if he was here for just 6 or 7 years.

If he wins say 3 SEC Championships and 2 National Championships in that time span he would be remembered here pretty well indeed.

Stoops resurrected Oklahoma for sure. If he did the same here I personally would not care what National media talked about. His BCS berths and/or National Title appearances at Tennessee could not be ignored.

Top of the morning one and all,
You know, I have been a believer in this since back at episode 1. It just made the most sense to me. Dots seemed to connect well and with the OG's info I couldn't help but go all in, (just a small part of me hopeful I would't get kicked in my Big Orange Cup). I woke up this morning kinda whistling to myself. Read the notes, got a text and got the warm fuzzies, He is really coming! It's like knowing Santa is real and then waking up Christmas morning seeing your stockings full. I feel like going Buffett today, you know, it's 5 o'clock somewhere, ordering boat drinks and a cheese burger!
On a side note, I am driving over to attend the game Saturday. I think it is important to cheer this group of seniors on for all they have gone through and done. Anyone else attending? Being out of state, I would like to meet some so I feel less stalkerish :)

I just can't root for UGA against Bama. I just can't.

I have waaaay more annoying acquaintances from UGA out here that are completely obnoxious...and for them to have a shot at the NCG...would start a fight in my bar, and I'd be in it!!!

And just so you guys know I'm still firmly on the Gruden train.

I am, however, also on the Stoops train.

Have been for awhile. I would be absolutely giddy with that hire.

I agree with this. I was on VQ for 10 years. Larry is solid but seemed to be hedging a lot the last couple of years. He doesn't want to be totally wrong from what he has been told. I know he had contacts on Fulmer's staff- not sure what they are now.

With the back and forward talk about who if not Gru, I was wondering if anyone knows what the buyout for other talked about candidates would be, such as Stoops, Gundy, Mora Jr., Strong, etc.

I know its probably already been posted somewhere, but I'll plead oldtimer's and freely admit that I don't remember seeing it.

HA! I wonder who could it be?? Except for contradicting himself much of what Tony says today is how it goes down at all schools. AD has appearance of power. The $$$ pats him on the head and tells him to do his job and then they will decide who the coach is.

and that's great. But to take shots at a long time contributor to many Vol boards is ridiculous. Figuring out who actually has info isn't that easy but some have long track records

It has to do with his Monday Night Football contract. He wants to finish out the season with them. Nothing will probably get out until then.

It's gonna put a hurry on recruiting....but it will still be fine. It's Gruden!

I missed hubbs on 104.5 until the end. I thought he was going to cry talking about how much class and dignity this senior class had shown thru all the terrible times.
