You guys are right. Tony has been all over the map. He also says that Dave Hart has been shocked at what has been leaked out! So, if it isn't Gruden then why would he be shocked???? That is the only name being talked about.

This is a pretty big swing and miss if Gruden is fired or a grand slam if it's someone else who is hired.

I'm confused. Why would he want to leave oklahoma? Overstayed his welcome kinda thing?

I know it is odd but so many people are putting his interest out there. I know it could be a raise ploy but that even seems odd. At his salary compared to others I don't think that is it.

Actually LWS' hesitancy about Gruden being hired is the major reason I've tempered my excitement thus far. I don't know the guy but he's been pretty solid in the past from what I've read anyway. I'm just a casual Volnationer so maybe I've missed something though. Others probably know more about his reliability than I do.

I don't think you can overstate how important this hire is, and if Hart screws it up, he be sent packing. Strong ain't gonna keep him working.

I am beginning to think it may be Jimbo if not Gruden.

I know this is silly - but I really want another Phil Fulmer in regards to a guy who loves Tennessee and looks to coach the rest of his life here.

I just don't see Stoops being that way. Gruden I will always worry will get the NFL itch, but I don't see him Kiffining us for another NCAA team.

Stoops has never been one to jump ship.

He was at Florida for a long time and he's been at Oklahoma for 11 years now.

Sorry was editing it. My honest prediction is Gruden hasn't said yes to us but we asked. If he agrees he will be the highest paid coach in NCAA. If he doesn't I am not sure where we go. Fisher and Strong both have teams that might be going to a BCS bowl game. Are they going to leave before a BCS bowl game? Outside of that no idea.

It's interesting how all these other SEC team fans are lecturing us on what a great coach Dooley was. Yes, he was great cause you could beat him. They also don't think we could land a big fish like Gruden. Another reason this has to happen. Vols have been down way too long.

I know he's been at OU a long time... I guess I'm just saying if he did come to UT and retired at UT, I'd be fearful that his time at OU would be where his legacy was remembered, not at UT.

Agree here, too.

Think of the UT coaching search as a big ship. You can be on the starboard and everything looks fine. While on the port, you've got Gruden leaks all over. LWS (Larry) could simply be on the starboard where there are no leaks from his people. Meanwhile, you've got folks on the port that see Gruden gushing from every seam.

So in this scenario, Larry isn't wrong. He just doesn't have the vantage point needed to see the leaks. While at the same time, he's at 5%-10% because he hears the guys yelling on the other side of the ship.

The way we have been abused the last few years. No ones worries are unwarranted.

I'm good. Finding myself stepping away more and more. This is exhausting.

No offense brah, hopefully you know I respect what is being brought to the table...however...knowing what you know, how you know it, and who you know it from, makes it easy for you to feel that way because you have it firsthand...I can see it would be frustrating.

People here get up and down because they are essentially looking at a copy of a copy, or maybe even a copy of a second copy, trying to see it through you guys who have generously shared...so please dont get frustrated with those who believe but worry a little. (And Im not saying that you are exhausted because of these types, but rather the next group)

Now those other guys, the critics, the naysayers, the spanish inquisition guys...tell em to eff off...

Still very much appreciative to hear whats going on...Im the news guy for my dad, a die hard vol fan, who is salivating at the thoughts of our future atm.

Just another long time poster who thinks he's connected. He's dead wrong here and will be shown as such within a few weeks. His 5-10% BS is just a little wiggle room to try and have it both ways. To sound like a big shot if he's right, and not a bonehead if he's not.
