Surely he should see the potential in revenue alone with a Jon Gruden as HFC at UT! In and around the university and state.
Or could be as simple as, if he's not here, you're not either.
I vote for 2!
I like #2 as well. I think the whole situation was a power struggle. Cheek lost.
Great news Bcarter....so you trust this guy huh?
If Boro and these other posters really have the scoop, then I assume Jon is coming. If it happens there will be a lot of hype, excitement, and hope for what he might bring. If Jon isn't as good at the college game as we hope then we're in for a rude awakening. How much would that buy out cost etc? At this point we don't have much to lose W-L wise, but betting the bank sure better be the home run many think it will. In the end I'll be excited because it all sounds good right now, yet if Jon can't deliver fast enough how long will take for the fan base to turn on him as well?
Who knows? But a Super Bowl winning celebrity coach will bring a lot more personal capital to spend than a failed WAC coach. That certainly will buy him more patience than we had with Dooley. If Boro and these other posters really have the scoop, then I assume Jon is coming. I had heard something happened to turn Cheeks.....didn't know what. This makes sense.
I'm just as skeptical as you are but there is a small group of guys on here that don't put out bs and are very trustworthy. They all agree and have sources that are trustworthy that says he is gone and Gruden is in. I'm trying to hold back excitement until it is announced, but the guys that are bringing the info just make it to hard to not be excited. I don't have any doubts anymore, just ready for it to be announced and see what kind of recruiting class they will bring in this first season. Sounds like we will have our RB of the future in D. Green.
Let me correct myself. What I was saying about lining up didn't include the Cheek part. I was commenting on the flight to Atlanta by a booster to meet with Gruden. I also was told that after the plane left ATL, it flew to Colorado.....

Two questions that I keep going back to with things I am hearing on here.
What would attendance have to do with DD finishing the year out?
An interim coach on the sidelines wouldn't improve attendance much at all IMO
Why would Gruden care about keeping the media attention off of him so he can finish out MNF?
It seems to me the more attention he gets the more the ratings go up for espn. I suggest the opposite is the case and he really wants the attention thats why you see a school like this every year with him
