This....exactly like we discussed in this thread yesterday afternoon. And nobody who had good info ever said Monday was the day.....only a possibility, with caution for patience.
Also, on the question of Gruden's offensive scheme....he has spent the last few years attending clinics and meeting with coaches and coordinators around the country learning what works in college. That is not conjecture, but something he has spoken about. I believe he has had this move in his mind for sometime, and will unveil a system that has been developed for success at a high level in his new endeavor. It won't be a rehashed west coast/ Tampa offense.
Solid post. Fully agree. Jon has everything from contracts for ads with businesses to ESPN to future coaching clinics, etc. to work out. UT has the BOT and negotiations on said contracts to work out. Attorneys are paid by the hour. Need I say more?
Our dismay is over not knowing when. There is no "if". The income drop for keeping Dools is not sustainable because of a lack of cash reserves and rapidly dwindling fan support. Simply, it's not yet time to know when. Hart and the UTAD are doing it right this time. Hamilton's method was wrong, which is why he is no longer the AD.
For the trolls and negative - the comparative silence from both UT and Gruden on the issue is telling if you are paying attention. MNF goes away around the dead period in December. Don't think for a minute that Gruden won't play it up big as his swan song. He will have the staff that he can announce (not still under contract somewhere else) ready to go. The recruits he wants to retain and seek out will already be analyzed and targeted. In the last couple of months they will get it done at a higher level than Dools would ever be able get done.
And the Vol nation will explode with excitement. FWIW IMO.
