First - I am completely on board with Gruden. Second - do you guys see it as a PR issue if Dooley were to some how win out these remaining games and then announced that he is terminated? Does that have any impact at all in thsi situation - especially if nothing is "formal" unitl post KY?

Position coaches, yes. DC - I would only trust Zook with that one. I could care less about Faxgate today. We all make mistakes and have regrets. That's his to own.

Zook's DC experience runs deep and into the NFL. Not sure this is the way Gruden would go with a DC, seems more like a position coach hire at first, but if he did I would not question it. Steele's D schemes and techniques are out of date and it showed up on the field. Position coach for him. However, he could add valuable coaching wisdom to any staff Gruden assembles.

I tend to agree, but I wonder if Majors feelings will be a factor. I don't know if they will...just thought is was discussion worthy.

Depends on how Hart handles things. If Hart's message is Dooley came in to play the role of rebuilding the team to a certain level and expresses gratitude for handling the NCAA investigation, installing the VFL program and rebuilding our reputation as a competitor with class, but now is time to take it to the next level, then I think it will be accepted by the public.

Neither list of assistants come from credible sources. Both are speculative. OCI just playing to the crowd and TOS just a random poster. Although if you put them both together you're closer to the truth.

He (Hubbs) basically just said a move hasn't been made because there are a lot of things fans don't know about preventing it right away FWIW

Dooley is allowed to coach ouot the rest of the season. Gruden to finish MNF schedule. Simple as that. People saying the info was flawed are just wrong. The info and circumstances changed.

This....exactly like we discussed in this thread yesterday afternoon. And nobody who had good info ever said Monday was the day.....only a possibility, with caution for patience.

Also, on the question of Grudens offensive scheme....he has spent the last few years attending clinics and meeting with coaches and coordinators around the country learning what works in college. That is not conjecture, but something he has spoken aboyt. I believe he has had this move in his mind for sometime, and will unveil a system that has been developed for success at a high level in his new endeavor. It won't be a rehashed west coast/ Tampa offense.

This just keeps getting better, thanks.

Possibly on the PR front from people that really don't understand the game very well. Pretty sure the players already know or sense he is done though. We will be seeing the character of the current team play out over the last 4 games. They may or may not realize they are auditioning for next season. Will see if they take it seriously or have attitude problems. Gruden will be taking notes and watching closely IMO.

But I also have full faith and confidence in Dools to mess it up somehow. I don't see them getting by Mizzou and/or Vandy without slipping up.

Hubbs is telling what he has been told to say. Pretty much lines up with G and a few others are saying. They don't want it out yet.

When Monte Kiffin came to the hill, when he spoke, everybody shut up and listened. Gruden carries the same weight in knowledge. People need not worry about his scheme. It will be rock solid. The athletes that are carrying out the plan will be the best in the land.

If CJG comes here I will be extremely excited. But.... It does scare me a little if he brings in a new offense that has never been even tested to see if it works. Not saying it won't but come on it might be the highest paid contract ever for someone when the product they bring to the table is still in its testing phase.

We hear what we want to it seems. He said hart is still very much evaluating DD

He also brought up that if hart keeps DD, DD HAS to be the guy for the future and Hart has to commit to whoever he chooses in a long term decision. He said that whoever he chooses can't have this uncertainty around coaching next year. IMO, it doesn't seem like he thinks DD is gonna make it, but he won't come out and say it

That's what I'm talking about.

THis just gets better and more exciting. I can't imagine the excitement from the fans and community once this is actually announced. I'm giddy now, can't imagine the feeling once it actually happens.

not a lot of info as you would expect, basically Hart hasn't made a decision,
team chemistry seems to be better then last year,Offense had its best game,Tyler
payed great,blah,blah,blah...

one interesting thing that kinda matches what some have said about Hart making a decision in relation to Dooley and the head coaching job,Hubbs mentioned
some conflicts with the academic sides,i.e.,calling out Jimmy Cheek
if you read between the lines...

Got great news the minute I walked into work this morning from the kind of people you want to hear it from. Again, not my direct information but now a second person claims to have seen the MOU, and that it contains an "unprecedented" compensation package for the NCAA. Also was the second person that should know that confirmed the talks started getting serious when Denver played Atlanta in Atlanta on MNF and a certain booster and Johnny Majors flew down and met with Gruden.

They went on to say that just Monday there was a phone call between Dooley and a certain "mega booster" that got quite heated and resulted in Dooley hanging up the phone. Supposedly this is one of the things that cleared the way and got Cheeks fully on board.

Could be just another rumor but is in line with everything else I have heard. Also this guy has never said anything directly to me about it, but it came up in a private meeting this morning. This is one of the people I wanted to hear this from, because it is the least likely person I know to make up something like this. He stated it as a fact, and in our business relationship and the people he said it in front of it could be majorly detrimental if made up. He is 100% convinced Gruden is coming. I am 99%.
