Anyone who has ever negotiated contracts or brokered high-stakes deals in the corporate or political arena would know that the professionals involved don't generally leak out information as any hiccup could end the deal prematurely. IF you accept that as true, and I do in general, which of the two options below makes more sense?
1) Very wealthy boosters (many of whom are corporate big-wigs and also politicians) are working a deal with Gruden behind closed doors, by back channel communications, yet apparently more than a handful of them are whispering details to their good friends, who are then turning around and posting this on message boards, OR
2) We are either being intentionally or negligently mislead. As C.L. said last night on the radio, Gruden loves media attention. Maybe the fans are having incorrect info leaked to them knowing that the crescendo of noise will get picked up by the media so when negotiations do start in earnest the AD can say "See Coach Gruden, the fans already love you". Or, maybe it is just like the telephone game, X said to A who said to B who said to C. The message C gets is nothing close to what X told A.
I am not trying to micturate in anyone's breakfast cereal of choice, I am just trying to rationalize all of the data that comes and goes through these hallowed walls. I do not know any insiders, nor do I know anyone who knows any insiders (and I don't mean to question people who have laid out insider sources) but none of this makes any sense to me.
The sad thing is that of the "big news" that has happened at UT (such as coaches leaving/being hired) or disciplinary problems and concurrent dismissals and other real goings on inside the program I heard on the news before I ever read so much information about them on here. I am just dubious.
i can't speak for anybody else, but this sums it up for me.
As I said, I am just going to pretend that Gruden is our coach no matter what happens.

Has anyone thought about the 2008 Bucs season? Monte Kiffin announced he was leaving for Tennessee and the Bucs went from 9-3 to 9-7 and missed the playoffs and Gruden was fired. Anyone worried that he is mad at us and is getting his revenge?
anybody just hear that last call on Ainge's show?
