Fo Real, night guys

Warrior, thanks again for the chub chewin'. Have fun passing him around guys, not gals. If you feel any teeth, just slap him on the back of the head. They will subside and the Pro Blo will resume without hiccup.

Warrior, shoulda' thought more careful 'bout awtcha poyzin' ya' pick. Next time, don' pick one that STANGS suh' bayid......

I can buy the multiple booster angle and believe it to be very plausible, but I just find it hard to believe Haslem wouldn't want him at the Browns for the same salary. And I get it that people say Cleveland sucks, but the fact remains that Gruden has always been an NFL man. Why would a coach who has won a Super Bowl, is the face of MNF, and still likely has NFL opportunities want to drop to college?

I think it's more likely that this is an agent play to get his name back out there as a serious coaching candidate and to leverage Tennessee's situation against other NFL teams that will have openings at the end of the season. Saying UT will pay him $5mil plus per year drives up his bargaining power.

I think Tennessee and its hungry fan base is all a pawn in a scheme to get back in the saddle as a head coach in the NFL.

My .02. YMMV

Understandable. Everybody should be skeptical. I just really believe what I have been told and honestly think he comes here. I can see how some think it's too good to be true. But too many of these "insiders" are saying the same things. We can only hope they are right.

some say because Browns just fired his mentor. Haslam would be HATED with fury in Knoxville. i think maybe Gruden might just want to coach college. its not unfeasible. also, look at the status Saban has in Alabama. Gruden can have that and the $.. in the end there is no telling what his motivation to coach college could be. maybe its no GM dictating what players he can go after.

I will admit that last line has been in the back of my mind but I want to believe.

Jeremy Bates and John Shoop would be the two most logical OC candidates. I believe Graham will be retained. Shoop and Pittman coached together at UNC, so I could see Pittman also staying.

Raheem Morris would be dynamite (I think he should have been considered a head coaching candidate). His ability to recruit would be incredible.

Bates will be on his staff. No doubt.

Read Tony B. blog. Interesting stuff.

Here is what is interesting:

"I'm saying in plain English right here that [A] I don't believe a deal is done despite the fact that several people I trust and like are trying to tell me otherwise. I'm going to buy Jon Gruden to Tennessee when I see him in an Orange tie being introduced on campus. That's when I'll believe it."

Is he towing the party line in the "A" part, while trying to tip us off in the "B" part?

Maybe so. He said on the air that he like all UT fans have been burned so many times that he can' go all in until it is for sure.
