It's gotten to the point where I have no clue who would be my second choice..I used to have a top 5 list but that's pretty much out the window now..Gruden or bust.

There should always be a back-up plan even though i don't think we will need it.

Heard some positive stuff today. Still trying to confirm from at least 1 more person so as to have at least 3 different folks hearing the same thing.

What makes you think it's a "simpleton" contract? Does that mean the University was represented by simpletons too? This isn't their first rodeo (nor Dooley's agent's), and the contract doesn't look bad or particularly unusual to me. As I said, UT may try to use the UNC issue as leverage in negotiating a buyout, but I doubt they'd try to go to the mat over a significantly reduced buyout unless something more significant comes out than has so far (the UNC issue and his throwing players under the bus). Now his alleged altercation with Hart yesterday might have the potential to be more dangerous to him, but we don't know the details, and it would have to have been horrendously bad to justify a termination without cause rather than a warning, etc.

Wow. Youd think you personally wrote it...stay cool brah...

Honest question though. Is this the most complicated contract youve laid eyes on? Its a fairly simple contract, straightforward but it does leave wiggle room, any good contract does. Simpleton may not be the best choice of words (as in implying the writer was a simpleton, which it was not meant to).

Sorry man. Its all good. Im not debating you, I agree with you, Im just saying, wording is all about interpretation.

We cool?

eta- What if the warning came after the UK game? Not without cause then is it?

Ok, not sure who they were quoting but the 990 guys on right now..don't kill me for listening to 990 I never do just today because of obvious reasons..anyway they read from one article saying the control he would have at the college level might be to enticing to pass on. Then they qouted another predicting straight up that Gruden would be UT coach.
