It’s easy to recruit at Alabama. I’ll reserve my opinion of his coaching for later. I just don’t see this as an orange blooded home run hire.

He did it at Georgia and Florida state too..

This was Tennessee’s chance to swing for the fences. Instead we trot out Schiano, a host of horrid choices after that, and back ourselves into a corner while everyone else fires/hires in 48 hours. We took what 24-25 days to make a hire when it was obvious after Georgia that Butch was gone.

The football has become a joke that I can’t support. It’s not just Fulmer making THIS hire. It’s Currie. It’s Davenport. It’s how things have been run for a decade now.

I refuse to saddle up to a university that continues to hire up and comers on the cheap, knowing full well there’s at least 80,000 people that are “willing to give [new coach v3.0] a chance” and that’s good enough business for them, I guess.

Will I watch other sports? Barnes? Sure. Something about proven head coach, 16 tournaments in 17 years, you know, actually a good hire.

Everything else? Not worth the time, money, nor emotional investment.

PW, I haven't seen much speculation on the staff yet, other than an ESPN related tweet that Tee probably would not be OC - which makes sense, both Pruitt and Tee are young so Tee wouldn't be in a good spot to move up under Pruitt, but other than that I haven't seen anything yet

You believe Pruitt to be a good hire. Good for you. I don't. I see it as reliving the mistakes of our past. Only time will tell. But questioning my passion for the Vols is idiocy on your part. I'm every bit as passionate as anyone on this board, or hell, even Phil Fulmer, about wanting what's best for this team. I do not believe Pruitt is what is best. I could be wrong, but so could all of you that scream he's a great hire. After Butch, I would think anyone of any intelligence would understand questioning a HC, but I guess there will always be those of you who sell out to a coach while throwing fellow Vol fans under the bus. For the sake of the team, I hope. I pray, he succeeds, but in no way do I believe he will. I fully expect in 3-5 years we'll be paying him an exorbitant salary while searching for our next head coach, and that pisses me off.
