This was Tennessees chance to swing for the fences. Instead we trot out Schiano, a host of horrid choices after that, and back ourselves into a corner while everyone else fires/hires in 48 hours. We took what 24-25 days to make a hire when it was obvious after Georgia that Butch was gone.
The football has become a joke that I cant support. Its not just Fulmer making THIS hire. Its Currie. Its Davenport. Its how things have been run for a decade now.
I refuse to saddle up to a university that continues to hire up and comers on the cheap, knowing full well theres at least 80,000 people that are willing to give [new coach v3.0] a chance and thats good enough business for them, I guess.
Will I watch other sports? Barnes? Sure. Something about proven head coach, 16 tournaments in 17 years, you know, actually a good hire.
Everything else? Not worth the time, money, nor emotional investment.
