Makes no sense. Currie is a 'taker' in this situation. No way that particular situation kills the deal.

This is 100% false......not the him saying no (don't believe that) but the reasoning for it.

Hope it’s JG, but if not, honestly I hope that his name never comes up again. I have confidence that Currie and the boosters did their best. I will, as always, give whoever the next Head Coach is at UT my full support until he gives me reason not to. We are impatient, but in reality, it hasn’t even been a full week yet since we fired Butch, so I would really be surprised about any announcement before the Vandy game, that’s my opinion. One things for sure, I have both hated and enjoyed the past week in this thread,and proud that, without question, regardless what anyone else says, we have the best fans in the world.

I'm hardly the first to say this but I've been asked about it a ton. Jon Gruden will not be the HC at UT. Definitive no and we are moving on. There were always hurdles to hire him. We tried to go over, under and around those hurdles but it is not going to happen in the end. This is NOT a failure by UT administration. It just comes down to a guy that does not want to coach college football. There is no reason to be angry, downtrodden or depressed about this. There are very good football coaches who are interested in coming here. We need to celebrate that truth and get ready for the next opportunity to be a great football program again. I would also caution listening to anyone who claims AD sources in all of this. Any talk is coming from boosters and other coaches. Currie isn't leaking anything. That means that info is going to be hard to come by, even for the very best of journalists

They still have some old squirrelly individuals pulling levers there. He would be smart to do it.He is actually in good spot now . They will beat AL and then either leverage the buzz for huge buyout extension because he just beat the Gumps or walk to AR for big bucks. The Bama game personally means millions for him.

When Tennessee wore those ghetto black jerseys vs South Carolina on Halloween in 09 (Kiffin season), Hyams kept saying it wasn't happening all the way to the time Tennessee ran out of the tunnel in black jerseys.
