I am going to repeat this for the third time...

Has Jon Gruden officially stated that he has no interest in the head coaching job at Tennessee?
If not, I see no reason for concern at this time.

Yeah, and Curry pretty much said don't believe anything unless it comes from him.

Yes. He said he expected some "He turned us down" reports to buy time.

That is beyond silly, what exactly is he buying time for in the grand scheme of things? We can't seriously be suggesting that there is some grand conspiracy to keep the news from leaking out, why? What would be the logic is doing that other than the notion that we are somehow protecting the seniors? I think Gruden would make a great coach if for nothing more than just the optics of it but if he truly wanted to be the head coach at the University of Tennessee he has had ample opportunities to do so and he isn't.

Why does all the people that actually do reporting for a living say Gruden is a bad idea, or he is not coming. But fans seem to think Gruden is the next saban.

Gruden was barely over .500 as a NFL coach. I don't get the attraction.

head coaching record 100-85

Apparently being barely over .500 in the NFL = undefeated seasons and Natty Championships in college.

At this point I'm expecting some to even say it's a smokescreen if Gruden actually does come out and say he's not interested at all.

Everyone stay calm. Gruden and everyone else is being respectful of the current staff and players. A loss tomorrow really swings things into motion.

Ok so riddle me this. Gruden goes on a Seattle radio station(an ESPN one) and requests for the coaching search not to be brought up. Instead of just staying away from it though he does the whole spill about rocky top be the best song yada yada. Unprompted bringing up of Tennessee. I just don’t get it if he hasn’t accepted the job pretty much. If this is a University, fan base, and team that he loves why would he do that? Especially with his son being here another full year! He will put his son through living hell after doing that if it was simply to troll our fan base! So why would he do that?? That’s my question for everyone here? Would you put your son through hell just to troll? Don’t say he can just transfer either, because I’ve transferred from college and it’s an annoying long process especially if you have only one year left. My answer is he is probably taking the job, because he wouldn’t do that if he hadn’t. Especially if he truly loves Tennessee. What say you Grudenites?

Could he have been on drugs? That's the only other explanation I could come up with.

When this truly breaks the maximization of exposure is important to all parties. ESPN because they have a true exclusive which is of high value. Gruden and Tennessee because the bigger the boom the bigger the impact on recruiting and positive rhetoric. You can't overestimate the importance of timing.

What if today is the day. Gruden and Cdog come to an agreement and then tomorrow during halftime the Jumbotron lights up and Currie introduces Gruden as the new coach. The crowd goes nuts but then Gruden actually walks out on the field wearing orange. Absolute pandemonium! Soon.
