Went to bed drunk and happy. Wake up to Twitter being more negative and ever and this thread filled with Mullen talk.

Someone pull me back from the ledge...

I’ve said it before. Ill say it again. If we have to settle for Mullen...just save the Mullen buyout money and just keep Brady Hoke with like $3.5 million a year. Let him hire his own staff.

Hoke had 1 great season in the past decade himself. Just like Mullen. Wouldn’t even have to pack his office up. If we are going to settle for mediocre, 8-4 coaches, at least don’t go spend millions and millions to get another 8-4 coach, just let the 8-4 guy that’s already on staff have the job. That only makes sense. You could probably make his buyout a free lifetime of Golden Corral coupons or maybe a free Firehouse sub a day for the rest of his life.

Like the Pioneer Pete. Actually Pete Carpet is nickname from Tommy G. who dated Vicki S. whos brother Larry is a Tennessee baseball coach. Larry and I played baseball together E.R. summer league a couple years,great guy. Guess he is still coach,don't know with new baseball head coach. I don't think if we knew each other in HS but 100% that we know the same people. Have busy weekend family,work,Vols so if I don't see u around this weekend hope you to have a wonderful one.GRUDEN GO VOLS!

Grude morning, VN. Looks like we're going through a few steep ups and downs before this rollercoaster finally comes to a stop. At least the end is in site. No matter what, this has been a fun ride. I've really enjoyed following along with you. Headed to get caught up...

There are 4 things that I continue to hang my hope on regardless of everything else I hear...

- Currie saying don't believe anything you hear until you hear it from me (paraphrasing)
- Jennings announcing his return w/o any announcement of the next coach (which admittedly could just be reflective of how much he hated CBJ)
- Martinez' comments about his conversation with Currie (given that timing wouldn't lend itself easily to a current coach)
- No flat out denials from key parties (boosters, AD, agent, etc.)

And you would be 💯 percent accurate. Both he and Kelly have that off camera Butchesq “prick”ly way about them. Surprised after going through Butch and his personality they would even go down that as a back up. I personally believe Patterson is plan B. DM is a Sexton push in media imo

eh, I think he'd be disappointed. Stricklin is gone and there is only so much MSU is going to give him, already gets over $4 million which imo is as much as they should be given the fact that it's MSU and I am not sure they have the resources UT or UF has.
I wouldn't be thrilled with him and would be angry if they gave him a whopping salary package. I couldn't imagine more than $5 mil. Le's hope it's Gruden or Patterson. I just think Ut can do better for the $ they can and will pay.

Needs to be done by Monday.
Our fans and local media have reached the point of diminishing returns.
I love Gruden but I’m past ready for him to make up his mind.
If he has already signed a contract, then Currie and Other decision makers should be able to read the climate and tell us on Monday. Waiting longer is hurtful on many levels.
If he has said no, tell us. Leak it on Sunday.
If he is still in the MAYBE stage, give him Monday as a drop dead deadline. If no, Then, go get Patterson, if possible.

Mehllen sucks.

I’d take Will Muschamp over Mullen in a second if those were my only two choices. South Carolina has won 1 conference championship in school history and Muschamp has been there less than 2 full seasons and I’m pretty sure he’s beaten as many ranked teams as Dan Mullen has in 9 years at Mississippi state.

Its not a sure thing. Kelly and McElwain are buddies. They go to the same coaching clinics together every summer. The talk out of Gainsville is Kelly is demanding the samething McElwain did, which is better facilities. They flat turned McElwain down.
