You don't have to. But you're welcome to if/when Gruden finally just comes out with a "No." or we announce Mullen as coach.

I’m hesitant on Mullen because he has interviewed at multiple schools in the past trying to get out of Starkville and everyone passed on him. Makes me wonder

Good morning! :hi: There's something everyone needs to remember. Currie said unless it comes from his mouth treat it as a rumor. Just because media guy A or message board guy B says it doesn't make it true. Nothing is official unless it comes out of Currie's mouth no matter how "in the know" someone's source is.

For me, it's Gruden until he's not the one at the podium. No angst or worry.

80% of this forum could coach circles around Butch. If you can watch the 2nd half of MSU game sat night and say Mullen is a great coach you are part of the 20% that couldn't out coach Butch.

Going 8-4 at MSU automatically translates to 10-2/11-1 at UT. How do people not understand that?

Let’s Not get caught thinking the program dies under Mullen

Tennessee could do a lot worse

People just need to snap back to reality.

I just don't see myself having much active interest if Mullen is hired. He is not an exciting personality and I am not convinced that what he's done at MSU will transfer to Knoxville. He probably wants to stay where he is anyway so I'm not sweating it much.

Hes there because of what happened At UF off the field
I don’t think we’ve even contacted him

Frost told them no already...

I thought he said couldn’t address it till after season slowed it down . I hope he stays there . I am a UCF fan too. Son graduated and daughter graduates next year. You write checks you magically become a fan and follow the team. Funny how that goes 😄

Gruden is coming.
It’s a scheduling issue.
You just have to stop acting like a cat with tape on its paw.
Stay the course

I agree here.........introducing a new coach before the "new staff" even plays a game is wrong. Let this weekend play out and "go big" next week.

I wouldn't presume that he has not had many chances to "get out". No everyone who has what seems like a lesser job will take anything they get offered. A classic example is Petersen at Boise. Finally, he got the right offer. Some coaches just like the school, city, AD (his left which could be a factor)

I think Mullen has had chances to leave but not many will pay more than he gets that have the expectations MSUhas or that are in the SEC if he wants to be there. Texas, Penn State, both got what were considered to be elite coaches. Not too many jobs have truly been open that would be better who didn't have their man already or hire current staff (LSU and USC). Miami went after Richt and PSU after Franklin, PSU after Urban, etc. Florida passed on him twice because he came off arrogant in interviews, but what coach isn't, especially the good ones?

There's a lot to be said for appreciating a big salary and job security when he would have 3 years max to win 10 games a year at any team he left for, ass opposed to sitting tight in Starkville cruising to 8 win seasons and being fine.
