Official Jon Gruden Thread 36

meh. I just can’t see him doing that now with his son being a student at ut.

Any other time i would probably think that too. But he’s not going to get his son hounded like that over his own ego. Can’t see that happening.

I think he’s coming. But he doesn’t want to announce until the season is all but over. Dudes been canned himself. I think he took getting fired extremely personal tbh. He’s probably letting hoke and the staff finish out respectfully while letting the seniors get their last little spotlight instead of jogging in at the last and stealing the show and the cameras from all them. They have been through helluva last three seasons, if he just ran up and took all the attention that would be like proposing at someone else’s wedding during their dance. Totally improper.

Just how i see things.

exactly!!!

I think Grand Vol has a tutorial attached on how to do the GIFs. If not search preacherwebb's posts. They had him in a remedial class for a while and then he went bonkers. Thanks for the like. I imagine I will be returning to my non-posting eight year hole like a cicada very soon. Funny enough the other tidbit I had and passed along a few weeks ago ended up being posted as a text on another sight and then volnugs twitter picked it up but it never made a blip in the radar and was buried in all the noise... we live in crazy times.

I'm blaming Bob Dylan

Then tonight someone was poor mouthing Dickel. Ain't nothing wrong with Dickel!

That was me. I haven't had it since high school and it was mixed with Dr. Pepper so maybe I should give it another try but without the dp. That was almost 20 years ago and I can still taste it... never mind I don't think I can handle it.

he's signed as far as I'm concerned so our discussion isn't necessary. I just wouldn't post anything like that. We're likely older and I'm saying students don't think that way or I'd hope they wouldn't.

I’m 21 buddy. Most people my age don’t have near the respect for people that they should. At least that’s how it seems to me. My Momma would whip me in a heartbeat haha.

Let’s hope..
Because If Mike Bobo jumps out of a birthday cake wearing a Georgia thong at the pressor.. i’m done.

Can't see us going with Mr. Mid-Major #3

If credentials and achievements have to be enhanced through Barnum-style spin worthy of professional wrestling, then the candidate is ill-suited for the demands of Tennessee football coach. The past decade has proven that.

Edit...Soon!

I'm kinda late to the party tonight, 3rd shift will do that. I'm not reporting anything "inside" just a question about something I read on facebook earlier tonight. Someone said that Gruden turned down the offer. Another one said he said no to proposal #1 and yes to proposal #2. As far as I can tell, there's no confirmation either way, but it's the first time someone put into words that he said no. My phone hasn't blown up with affirmations one way or the other. Then, I see a Dan Mullen thread on here tonight and I start thinking there must be some truth to it or just bad timing.

My friend owns McCloud, I'll tell him you guys enjoyed it there. He always likes to hear about satisfied customers.

Took the wife up there for our anniversary a couple years ago. Absolutely loved it. Hoping to go back there soon. The chimney formations are amazing.

The LSU game does hold some intrigue. First, it’s on ESPN Saturday night at 7pm. Second, the 1997 SEC Champs will be honored on the field during the first quarter with, obviously, Manning and Fulmer being there. So, some intriguing elements other than the game itself that could play into the Gruden deal. Reaching for sure, but......

FOOTBALL CENTRAL: Tennessee vs. #20 LSU - University of Tennessee Athletics

His agent kicked us in the teeth five years ago.

I hope Gruden politely and professionally declines soon, and this place moves on.

Currie and the Haslams scare me though. I find it hard to believe that the guys who let Jones coach all the way through the MO game will suddenly nail a great hire; kinda like how the guy who left Dooley in there too long ended up with Jones.

Basically, I haven’t seen anything to make me think the people in charge value this place enough to swing hard.

Kind of feel bad for those veterans about to witness the modern team get completely destroyed for 60 minutes.

Facebook is never a reliable source.....

So … without question, the story of the week has been Jon Gruden and there have been all kind of unconfirmed rumors. Rumors from Tennessee offering him the position to rumors he's turned down the position to rumors he has no interest in the position. But Gruden's camp hasn't confirmed or denied anything, and we don't expect them to do so. And Currie isn't doing any talking. In fact, Currie seems to have been working by himself most of the week. His executive staff has been in Knoxville, and on Thursday, most people who are considered decision makers such as key contributors were in their offices or at their homes.

So does Gruden want the Tennessee job? Many we have spoken with say that he prefers the NFL to a college job. Others say don't rule anything out. At this point, how can you with neither Gruden nor Tennessee saying anything to slow down the rumor mill. One other unconfirmed rumor is that Gruden's wife was in Knoxville on Monday. It's no secret that they are looking for a home in the Knoxville area.

So what's the resolution the the Gruden rumors? There doesn't appear to be one unless Gruden takes this job or a hire is made
