What was weird about today was all the positive news, and everybody excited, and then boom Hyams posts that..

If Hyams was told to do that by someone in the University and they were lying...they should be ashamed of themselves for doing that to Brice... and Jimmy Hyams is a piece of sh*t.
Being labeled a lier is almost a death sentence in that profession.

You would think if Jones was the only factor he would he announced on that monday or Tuesday. He waited until Wednesday evening, after everything started breaking.

Maybe they are just trying to protect the timing for a variety of reasons?

I don't claim to know anything and am no more connected than the next guy. I have observed, however, and that IMO, MITBeaver's demeanor has changed since those original posts were wiped. I'm not doubting or questioning who he may be as his info lines up with info I have gotten through two not verifiable sources (third hand or greater) since very early on. While I trust the channels my info came from I would never say 100% until it's announced as Coach has last right of refusal. Further I can excuse a difference in MITs tone from the initial posts that I read for many speculative (on my part) reasons. At worst he had some initial back story bases covered, is somewhat connected, and has been winging it as a pretty smart guy intent on trolling (and mostly doing a dang fine job) , and at best was a willing participant as a die hard Vols fan in a campaign to create a pressure situation for all parties involved and has grown a bit fatigued. Truth tends to lie somewhere in between. I don't have specific posts to point to a change, it's just some subtleties I've picked up on, if you've stayed up on him; whether that's a longer leash, bravado, ego, frustration, or the initial scripted plays have been gone through and now he's freelancing and having a bit of fun (and I don't blame him if that's the case). I could go on but what's the point? Volnation has exceeded my hopes with people giving away tickets to less fortunate to amazing educating in how to post GIFs, suicide and military support groups sprouting up, flight stalking streaming live, and fighting like family - what's not to love? Finally, based on all I can put together from sources near and far, I think an offer has been made that would be damn near impossible to say no to and if he can get a staff together that he feels great about then we're about to make some real serious noise. But the ball is in Coach's court and if you know Coach at all, he's more than a little crazy. Which is why I love him. Could go either way. I feel good about it. Gruden to the hill! Ps I've almost posted this repeatedly and have refrained. Then tonight someone was poor mouthing Dickel. Ain't nothing wrong with Dickel!

Right on about the Dickel! And this was a really great post. I've been a lurker for quite some time as well and I've been really intrigued by this whole thing. I think we're going to have our answer soon, and I think it's going to be one we can all live with. By the way, did you happen to learn how to insert GIF's into a thread? I'd like to know myself. Thanks again for the great post. Gruden to the Hill.

With his cockiness I can see it but I just think Florida would go for someone that has proven a little more.

On a side note, the USF vs UCF is set up to be a fun game in a couple of weeks. Strong vs Frost

The way he is with Raider fans...after he was rumored to be on his way back there. He doesn't want the job but wants us to still like him. Just my theory.

UT has pushed "all in". It's either put up or shut up time as far as I'm concerned on the Gruden side. You talk the talk so do the walk.....we'll see soon!

he's signed as far as I'm concerned so our discussion isn't necessary. I just wouldn't post anything like that. We're likely older and I'm saying students don't think that way or I'd hope they wouldn't.

I think Grand Vol has a tutorial attached on how to do the GIFs. If not search preacherwebb's posts. They had him in a remedial class for a while and then he went bonkers. Thanks for the like. I imagine I will be returning to my non-posting eight year hole like a cicada very soon. Funny enough the other tidbit I had and passed along a few weeks ago ended up being posted as a text on another sight and then volnugs twitter picked it up but it never made a blip in the radar and was buried in all the noise... we live in crazy times.

Playing devils advocate here....Fact is he hasn't coached in 9 years, he's been around the game in color commenting and QB clinics etc. He's been ''knighted'' as a savior of Tennessee football because he once coached in a superbowl with Dungy's players, isn't that fair to say? Then faded until let go by the Buccaneers. It's assumed he's at some level very good at coaching, maybe just maybe that assumption has been his meal ticket? Is the reason he's backed out of coaching at Tennessee because he doesn't want to ''put it on the line'', and remove all doubt one way or the other? I don't know....If he comes here I hope he's really good. Just thinking out loud.

While the Grude is my #1 choice by a good ways. There are others I'd be satisfied with. But if they trot out any of the guys Hyams listed earlier as top candidates, I become a television acquaintance of the Vols and not a donor any more. I don't know how many will join me, but I know some of my friends feel the exact same way. We're all older and can put our money towards more constructive things than UT football if UT football won't commit to being a contender.

I think he’s coming. But he doesn’t want to announce until the season is all but over. Dudes been canned himself. I think he took getting fired extremely personal tbh. He’s probably letting hoke and the staff finish out respectfully while letting the seniors get their last little spotlight instead of jogging in at the last and stealing the show and the cameras from all them. They have been through helluva last three seasons, if he just ran up and took all the attention that would be like proposing at someone else’s wedding during their dance. Totally improper.
