Argh! I know what you are talking about. It was competing with the old Humdinger Drive In (now Amburn's) and it was awesome...If my mom wasn't asleep I would call and ask her. For what it's worth, we always called that stretch of road "Old Knoxville Hwy" growing up.

Can't believe there have been posts about Druther's. I didn't think anybody else remembered it. That was my first job when I was 16 -- worked at the one in Jonesborough. It was where the Arby's is now.
