I’m a Knoxville native who tried Pal’s on a work trip to the tri-cities. Was totally underwhelmed. Must be a local thing. My frat brothers at UT from Kingsport talked like Pal’s was unbeatable. Every community has their local haunts they revere i suppose

Husband's fav burger is Tops. Of course nothing beats Earnestine & Hazel's, but that's not exactly fast food...

Agreed. I used to go more when I was a single gal. Nothing comparable in the burbs I'm afraid. We go occasionally when we catch a Grizz game, though.

I think I remember that place now. Had to think about it for a second. It was about the size of a shed across from the motel that had that little mini-golf course, right?

Since we’re talking burgers... In Memphis, it’s Dyer’s, Huey’s and Flying Saucer for me. My favorite is the Sunrise Burger at Huey’s... has a fried egg and bacon on it.

I have to go to the VA hospital about once a month, and the recently put that one on State of Franklin Rd. I may have to give it one more try next time I go up there.

It’s kind of like olives. I hate them, but I eat them about twice a year to remind myself why I hate them.

I agree, posted that earlier but we’ve also got sammons with the Big Chief Burger in Etown that’s a good burger and great seasoned fries and then also not a burger joint but Taco Johns blows Taco Bell outta the water.
