they're several layers away from what might actually be happening, and it's a hedged bet to say Gruden is not coming to TN.

and let's be real, we have 35 threads on this subject....this thing has a life of it's own, and it's an easy target to poke fun at.

comes with the territory...and Gruden doesn't come here, expect it to continue until a coach is hired.:thumbsup:

From all people reporting in media at this point they think Gruden has in fact been talked to and will listen but they think he will say no once again.

And you have stuck around VN from the start. Didn't drop bombs and leave. We all hope they get it right this time. Tennessee needs a boost in the worst way.

Just an opinion but lets look at what happened at Michigan. Harbaugh was hired as a "star" hire and now we look at the situation that his record is amazingly close to what Hoke's was.


No im not campaigning for Hoke. Im just saying because you hire a "star" coach it doesnt mean that you will be wildly successful.

The same people have told me positive things about Gruden, but I have NEVER predicted it this time. Personally I feel very positive. I heard yesterday it was done. But I have also said repeatedly that I am just along for the ride. I've intentionally not posted certain things I hear, and frequently only confirmed things once they come out from somebody else.

I'm not here to reassure anyone, and it would only last about 15 minutes if I did. I most certainly am not here to troll. I just want to be here and enjoy the process, have fun with some posters I like and pass along what I hear if it's relevant.

Because most of this thread hangs on every word and needs an update every 15 seconds instead of reading and forming their own opinion.

I have no problem with it. But we, those of us who know went down in 2012 don't really care to hear about it. Everyone knows he didn't come. But babyvol is a very reliable poster and 2012 is a bad way to gauge anything today.

Must surround with stars and recruiters. How is his staff up there? Coaches are only as good as their weakest link on staff

Welp good thing we have Gruden already. Because our Volnation insiders have cryptically said so. You know the ones that everyone trust and loves in here.

The answer to this lies in knowing the difference between the night shift Grudenites and the morning crew Grudenites. The night crew are the pessimists and the morning crew are the optimists. Dont read any threads after 5 PM and you will be sitting nice.

Maybe "compiling" would have been a better word than trolling. I never want or wanted to douse the Gruden flame with water as I hope as much as anyone it happens. I am just cautioning everyone, based on the 2012 experience, to be careful about hanging on the every word of message board posters not names LWS or Deerpark.

I agree .... it has gotten to where everything I post is twisted by someone..... I am fully in favor of Gruden but am beginning to think I need to back off this thread for a while.... I tried to post and tell Boro exactly what you posted but I think it went unnoticed ... He may have me on ignore... I am sure others do...

I am not upset with anyone and have NOT called anyone by name except the night DTO posted about Tampa Bay.

At any rate ... I certainly see what you mean... my thoughts are now at 50% on Gruden and we will see

HOPE WE GET HIM!

Probably because everyone feels like they need to be reassured every 5 minutes due to what happened in 2012.

It's a little extreme sometimes. Everyone needs to calm down an smoke a doobie or something.

Just received a text from same person who told me Butch was fired at 3:00am at Missouri that absolutey Currie was on plane, in Tampa putting on full court press. Only negative they’ve told me is Gruden is moving the goal post a bit.

I think no news right now is good news IMO. Too much smoke last night. I feel like if something had fallen through, we would've heard it by now.
