You would be incorrect with your analysis. We do appreciate a different view point, not the continuation of it. If you were here longer than a hot minute, you would understand that. With that, I will now place you on ignore as I'm sure many already have. Have a good day and Go Vols, Gruden Soon!

I don’t think they would ever just straight up tell former players. For obvious reasons.

But as with most things in life, it’s not what ya know, it’s who ya know, and a lot of those guys stick together like glue and they probably know a ton of people in and around the program, maybe not enough to get the full scoop, but definitely enough to get a decent trickle of info to kinda connect a few dots.

That should be enough on it's own. Now add in Bubba saying his work is done, AV already saying to basicly read the tea leaves yesterday, and Beaver changing his pic to a tux. Seriously, other than a formal announcement what else can be given out.

Bull**** BC's message was intentional. No other way to look at it. Especially with the way he worded. I think of it this way.
I think he had a mission to slow down the train and he completely derailed the sob. Congrats mission accomplished. He is also very vague , and probably knows more then he wil telll, Im also sure he probably has the connections to know who Beaver is. Thats just me, and honestly we need this.

Teddy R came along way after me. Stretch Armstrong was more my era.

I played football with Reggie White and Dale Jones and Tim Long Back in the day. I still see Charles Morgan at the gym almost weekly and I converse with Tim often.

By the way I do hope it happens but I also know Currie will do the right thing.

I didn't put much thought in to it at the time, heck didn't even hardly remember it, but it did seem a little odd when he abruptly resigned.

Since this is the official Jon Gruden thread...I'm gonna put this here, then DUCK..!!!
I just don't see the reason for all the "Gruden worship".
I don't find the kind of Head coaching experience IN COLLEGE that justifies the over-the-top excitement some folks have about this guy.
There's no question, we're going to pay millions of dollars for a top coach, so perhaps we need to look at what we are hiring if it's Gruden.
NCAA head coach record: NONE
NCAA recruiting record: NONE

Looks like he has been the very fortunate successor to a couple of good teams already built by someone else. When he did build a good team, it looks a lot like he went out with his bosses checkbook and bought it by finding the best free agents available and paying them whatever it took to come on over.
That's not recruiting great kids all while operating within NCAA rules...that's hiring mercenaries in a league with VERY few restrictions (relative to NCAA recruiting rules).
Just my opinion, and worth what you paid for it.

I think it's more likely that if a deal has been agreed to, then any potential staff members he has contacted have been told to make arrangements. If any of those coaches are VFLs (like reported) then I have litte doubt they have told other VFL's that it's about to go down.
