Conspiracy nuts are the true skeptics, I think you are off in how you see yourself, you are the one accepting everything for what you see on the surface.

That’s not true.

People believe right off the bat from one study that vaccines cause autism (my husband included) they believe there is some government conspiracy to destroy human minds.

And then the multitude of studies that prove this otherwise (and the fact that myself, my husband and all of these conspiracy theorists who got vaccines and aren’t autistic) well that doesn’t mean anything. No, the government is making all of these studies up.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that all conspiracies are wrong or that science is infallible. There are far too many scientists who publish what they are told to publish because they love their grant money.

But I can recall getting into an argument with my husband about a so called letter that proves WW3 is coming and this letter was supposed to have been written in the civil war. Well this letter is never mentioned until a conspiracy book mentioned it in 1950 and said it’s in the British museum.

I told my husband the British museum has said they have no records of this “letter” and my husbands response? “But what if it is real?”

I find most theorists believe what they want regardless of facts. Trust me, I live with one.

I don’t believe posts about the coincidence of one guy leaving his job six months ago points to the idea that there has been a plan all along to fire Butch, hire Gruden and plan the next 30 years of coaches.

Plans for stadium build and remodel? Yes. Plans for sports facility upgrades? Sure. Financial plans to iron out pay for new coaches, paying off old coaches and keeping the whole athletic department on solid funding? Absolutely.

But planning the different successors of the football team for the next 30 years? No.

It doesn't have to be as specific as naming coaches for the coaches position. It could however be trying to align future boosters to back the AD financially and with decision making for the long term. You need to expand in your mind what the definition could mean and not be so literal.

This weekend the VOLS jump out to a 10-0 lead and Neyland is rocking. In between the 1st and 2nd quarter the Jumbotron comes alive with Currie thanking everyone in attendance. He goes on to say that "brighter days are on the horizon and with that, I would like to introduce your newest head coach, Jon Gruden." The stadium erupts as Gruden runs out of the tunnel and the fireworks echo across the campus...

He then coaches the remaining 3 quarters, only running 🕷y2🍌 and beating the Tigers by 100. The playoff committee then ignores our overall record and only recognizes our W/L under CJG and we go on to win the Natty. Feels like 98.

There is new leadership from top to bottom. From the chancellor to the AD. I’d suspect you are much younger than me. But I just turned 40. Used to live check to check and my family was even on government assistance for a few years. But by the favor and grace of God and some work ethic, my wife and I built a business that’s paid is 7 figures the past 9 years. And you know what changed? How I planned life. I began to plan things out and implement a life strategy. We have 4 kids and have plans for each one that is 5-10 years down the road. I say that to say this: we are precisely were we are as a football team and a university because we didn’t have the leadership to see beyond a few years. That’s why I’m all in. I believe Currie, Fulmer, Peyton and many others realize that TN is at a crossroads and if they don’t put a plan in place, not a person, we may never regain our dominance. They aren’t planning the coach for the next 20 years. They are laying out the expectations of the coach. Recreating what TN football is all about. That way no Dooley or Butch Jones will ever step foot in Neyland again unless it’s to take a beat down.

Bravo to this.

Sounds fun but Gruden wouldn’t do anything to belittle Butch or overshadow Hoke.

And that is great. Exactly how you should be doing it. I am just saying as far as some meeting about 10 and 20 year plans going on right now with brokers down in Tampa is not true. His job as AD is to already have that in place, in conjunction with the BoT and Chancellor, but only for the things you can control. Making sure the stadium and practice facilities are top notch. Making sure the Thornton Center is running smoothly. Making sure endowments for scholarships are funded. We have that plan. No one can control the success of coaches and longevity of their tenures. There is no plan beyond getting the next one right. Currie will continue to watch the market, sure, but we have no ay of knowing who the next big coaching stud will be. They could be a current player with no coaching experience right now.

dont forget saban and his demands for control of the program. And the early talk of gruden wanting similar. He will be part of bigger decisions than just on the field.

GrudeOn has literally spontaneously combusted.

Lol...ladies and gentlemen...it’s time for a brief tutorial on how to spot a fake twitter account:

1. Are they verified? If so, they will have a blue check mark by their name.
2. Do they have any followers? If they are tweeting out “breaking news” with 32 followers then you can bet the farm that this is fake.
3. Do they have anything in their bio? This is under their picture/name. If it’s blank, then there is a 99% chance it is fake.
4. Look at their tweet history. If they have 10 tweets all within a few days. They are the equivalent of a poster with 1 post on VN saying gruden isn’t coming.
5. Before you copy and paste breaking news please review the aforementioned steps.

Have a Grude night everyone 🕷Y2🍌

1. Beaver isn't
2. Beaver has single digits
3. Hmm, something about scotch and whaling last I checked
4. Hmm, all in last month

Idk about this, we need to see if Beaver can confirm these rules.

Reread some of the posts. Folks were talking about how Butch was hired knowing he would fail to pave the way for Gruden and the next 30 years

That’s what I’m skeptical of. I believe they can have basic plans that can be altered when things change but a bizarre idea of Jones being a sacrificial lamb to save the next 30 years of football just is too big of a pill to swallow

Hey Rev, if you get time would you be willing to discuss some non-Gruden related subjects when you get time?

earlier today, everything was sunshine and lollipops and we had him and all was right with the world.

Now, after a few hours sleep and a few hours work, it's all somber in here and everyone is suspicious of everybody else and there's supposedly solid posters being called trolls and conspiracy theories and Oswald didn't really kill Kennedy and we had CJG but we lost him or we never had him at all........

somebody give me a concise recap of this afternoon/evening and where we slipped off the rails......

If Atlanta Vol, LWS, or Matts24012 say it then believe it. They’ve been proven time and time again to be legit. Take everything else with a grain of salt. Either way I believe it’s happening. Got a $500 bet and a bottle of Macallan 15 that say so. :)

DeerPark is legit too, but I'm not sure if he would know anything about this stuff

My stepfather died Friday before last from pancreatic cancer. My prayers are with you..its rough, but live every minute you have left together to the fullest.
The two incurable cancers are pancreatic and GBM. There are more clinical trials for both of these now more than ever to find a cure. We're believing in a miracle! Thank you brother!

Butch Jones almost went to the Sugar Bowl and if he had a kicker that didn’t miss 2 field goals a game—very well could have been undefeated in regular season in 2015 and signed some good recruiting classes. Those are facts.

Now if a complete and total bumble-f*** Like Lyle Jones could come that close to sniffing major bowls and 11-12 win seasons.....imagine what any coach with a pulse could accomplish here. A Gruden with a real staff. The Sky is the limit. Get all in my jimmies.

Big difference between Conspiracy nuts, and true skeptics. I'm pretty sure most of here are true skeptics. I'm not a believer that we land Gruden, and I have stated that doubt numerous times, but I do believe we are going all out to try. Despite what the mouthbreathers say.
