I'm speculating with this part. I believe Gruden had already signed off. I believe the big confab in Tampa today, assuming it took place as rumored, was to reach a consensus on essentially a 20 year plan for the program, which would likely include life after Gruden. That's why it was a "pivotal" moment. I think the long term plan involves individuals who may be coming on staff as Gruden's assistants.

In any event, I don't see how they keep the lid on past this weekend, much less after Vandy.

Everything aside from the direct info I got on Gruden himself signing is JMO.

FYI, anyone stating what "the plan" is as far as timing of an announcement.....is lying and is a phony! The AD does not have a timetable for announcement, because as of earlier today at least, the contract had not been signed. If you see someone saying that "the plan has been to announce on Sunday" or "The plan was to announce after Vandy" then you know it's not legit. My PSA for the night.

I have two of them, a gift from mother in law. I think one of her friends got them from Gus Manning years ago. Whenever I was at her house she knew I had to have my coffee in one of them. Told her I had seen some when I was in school there, had a chance to buy them and regretted it. The next Christmas they were under the tree. Now I drink out of one and the other is in my UT collection display case.

Because they will be able to come back and say well something happened over the(inset amount of days here), and I'm as shocked as you. It's been essentially across the board that those considered in the know have been vague/cryptic in their responses.

That's the only reason I can logically come up with for Beavers and Bubbas appearance.

They wanted to give us a peek behind the curtain so that we knew if Gruden didn't happen, who was the root cause of it.

Otherwise I have no idea why they are here.

Some claim to use is as leverage. Leverage for what and against whom?

There are enough clueless fans out there that would show up and support anyone they trotted out, at least for awhile.

They dropped cryptic hints about business dealings but to me that's seemed like someone "keeping the kids preoccupied " while something else was going on.

Seems to me that they were here for a reason, but that will probably never be revealed why. I don't think they really trolls but more manipulators. Feeding info for reactions. Maybe even passing info to someone else on this board.

I have zero sources, so I just sift through and make up my own mind about what is real and what is fake.

I'm just ready for a change.

Oh.. to all the trolls that show up trying to get someone to convince them if Gruden would be a good coach or not, grow a pair and .Ale up your own mind. Do some research on your own. Please stop coming in and trying to troll up an argument. You aren't going to change anyone's mind.

While the Gruden news is an obvious boom, there is a less obvious but bigger boom that most don't understand. The long term health plan for our Football program. Looks like we finally have some people in charge , true TN people, that give a frick and want to see this program Excel.
