Hell, if I'm Patterson and any of the courtship of Gruden is true, why the hell should is sit around waiting and playing second fiddle? So much BS about Gruden. If this guy wanted to be here, he'd have been announced by now. The writing was on the wall for Butch weeks ago. Currie could have and would have had all these details worked out well in advance since Gruden isn't actively coaching a team. This is nothing but pure fantasy and rumor. Hope and pray Currie has made his choice from among the real candidates and is pursuing him and selling him on this job. Making him feel and know that he's our number one and only choice. The idea a top coach would be content as a backup option is silly. All these guys have huge egos. No way they'll sit and wait on UT to go through a courtship with Gruden. Plain sick of all the grumor nonsense. Just ridiculous.

WR coach for JG? From one KHS grad to another, please say it's so! BTW, thank you for some props you gave me back in '92 in a locker room speech at halftime. Never forgot it. Thats a retweet from JJ on what i assume to be his official twitter has tons of followers and a BLUE check.
I generally like Mark Howard but his incessant use of "you know" is incredibly annoying and distracting. It's like a drinking game at this point. Drives me, you know, nuts.

I believe david blackburn has spoken to gruden and I am sure some others with Tennessee ties have spoken to gruden but I don't know of anyone specifically. If I did, I would for sure report it.

I don't see the lid staying on that long.I think that the JG to the Hill story will break immediately AFTER the Vandy game. Maybe even during it. I know nothing, but based on his Mike and Mike statement, I believe JG doesn't want to do anything that might make another coach's job more difficult. I think he wants the season to play out for the current staff at UT and for the guys that will be immediately rumored to be a part of the new staff.

Some notes on the 105.1 interview with Hargis. Posting because it confirms several things I've seen here.
- Things further along with JG this time than in 2012
- One of his sources expects to have more info later tonight (and Hargis said he was told that after the Mike & Mike interview this morning)
- He spoke to Blackburn both before and after the Mike & Mike interview this morning
- Should move quickly and should know something definitive by the weekend
- Big boosters on the same page, which was not the case in 2012
- Money for assistant coaches was holdup in 2012; should not be the case this time
- Staff is important to JG and wants it worked out beforehand
He also said some historical things I didn't know: Blackburn, Vic Grider and Gruden were all on staff at UT in 1985 and were all friends. Blackburn and Grider were student equipment managers. Grider and Gruden both worked with QBs at the time. Gruden and Grider were roommates and have maintained a close friendship since that time.
Something David Paschall said before Hargis came on: Hargis has received apologies from both Hyams and Ainge for things they said to and/or about Hargis following his 2012 article. FYI, Paschall and Hargis work together at the TFP.
Wrote this quickly, so please excuse any spelling errors.
