The major takeaways from Gruden's interview:
"I don't plan on leaving MNF but you never say never to nothing."
Also claimed "I haven't talked to anybody."
There are a few things though that need to be considered. First off, he has clearly spoken with people. When we have trusted media personnel, and I'm not talking "insiders" on message boards, but actual media members who stake their livelihood on reporting information, coming out and saying he has in fact spoken with individuals about putting together a staff, clearly that was a false statement. Why make that claim if not to simmer the fires and create some smoke? Second, his "Never say no to nothing" comment was clearly a cryptic response. Why? Well because, going back to my first answer, he has clearly spoken to people! This interview essentially bumped up my confidence. It didn't put me at 100% or anything like that, and I'm not anywhere close to 100% it's happening. BUT it did push me back from 50/50 where I was last night. I'm now in the 60/40 or 70/30 range that we at least have a good shot at it.
Ughhh...full blown Influenza B. Tamiflu and quarantine.
At least I have this thread to follow. My doctor said, Im so sorry but you need to hide for 7 days while youre highly contagious.
I thought oh man, perfect timing. I can keep up with Grumors!
But...it SUCKS!
A classic non-denial denial. He's just pushing the question off until he's ready to answer definitively.
The transcript:
This by no means proves he's coming to Knoxville. It also by no means proves he's not.
He just kicked the speculation can a little further down the street.
From your lips (fingers) to God's ears! (I'm out of town next week for work, need it to be before this weekend!)Agree. Wrong stage.
Wrong time.
Needs to be done for maximum effect for greater exposure.
I would do Friday so it steals Floridas thunder from Thursday and will be the absolute buzz over the weekend. Then bring him out during the LSU game for an encore.
