It's a polite pass on UT and a I'm open for the right place for me somewhere else
You guys are still fantasizing over something that WILL NOT happen.
Alll the while UF is about to lock up Chip Kelly and bury UT for good.
exact quote for those who missed it. Golic asked about coaching rumors to tennessee ...
Gruden:
"well you know mike, i haven't talked to anybody and all i really have in my life is my family and football - that's about it. And, uh, i'm real sensitive to the coaches that are out there coaching so i don't speculate.
I just love football. I'm trying to hang on to the job i have. I'm very fortunate to be with the people i'm with. Uh, i don't know what's gonna happen in the future - i just know this: I'm gonna continue to give my best effort to the game ... Stay prepared and uh ... I love monday night football. Don't plan on leaving, but as you know in life, you never say never to nothin'."

The man said absolutely what he had to say in regards to Tennessee. ESPN is not going to break the news at 7am on a Wednesday.
He specifically did not say he isn't interested, he did specifically say "You never say never to Nothing."
Interesting that he was asked specifically about the Tennessee job and then cited respect for the sitting coaches as the reason he wont speculate - when Tennessee has already fired their coach.
If JG->UT was a done deal behind the scenes--or even if they were just close to a deal--do you think he'd allow the question to even be asked? Would ESPN allow it?
At the least, I think this morning's interview should have us leaning toward "there may be talks, but a deal isn't very close".
