Thursday provides all day coverage with massive spill over into the weekend. UT would own the news cycle.....recruiting....

Also gives ESPN production teams time to put together their pieces. If this had already been done, we would have heard.

I am one of the few that thinks JG is actually better suited to the college game. In the pros his biggest cons as a coach were player acquisition and players getting sick of his intensity. In college he doesn't really face either issue. No salary cap in college limiting his ability to bring in talent. Also, the players automatically turn over every few years.

I think during his time away from coaching he's found what he misses is developing players, especially qbs. Everyone says he won't really like recruiting. His name will recruit at first. Success will recruit later.

That is so old man....at this point this quote is like a street beggar on the same corner, every day. Day after day after day after day.

This.. They have nothing else so they recycle old quotes in the hope no one pays attention..

Wow, listening to WNML just now (I know, don’t GTFO me for that) I believe one of the nega trollers here just called in in a big angry, almost yelling tone about how stupid the talk of Gruden is. Then, perfectly on cue, went on to say that his idea of a win now guy is Cut. Now I like Cut and all but that ship sailed two coaches ago. But what was funny was how the hosts jumped right in and said yeah, great idea. They are so obvious it’s sad....

Best fresh idea I’ve read in a while!
You actually may be into something here.
Whether he likes recruiting or not is a moot point. As you said his name is enough. Let your minions do the lion share of the daily recruiting, and gruden show up for the in-house m+g. He sits on the couch and it’s done. He clearly is the x&o guy, you stack talent and Saban will start losing sleep.
He had the passion to teach and the knowledge, add the talent I think he pulls and it’s an explosive combination.

I listen to Bobby Rader in the morning. I used to like him (better than Bill Meade) but his smug, condescending attitude is starting to wear thin on me. If for nothing else, I would like to see JG hired so many of these guys have to eat a big sh!tburger from the fallout...

I totally agree.....he’s changed a lot lately and it certainly is getting old....

If the rumors of a Thursday announcement are true(could be I have zero information other than what I get here) that would make a lot of sense. Get a fan base excited to come out and support a team still trying to get to a Bowl game, and yes I know it is a steep uphill battle. A huge coaching announcement would make that place a madhouse, and the atmosphere would be insane. Plus, a Thursday announcement would be great for me, I’m off work. I could spend all day celebrating. 🎉🎉🎉.
