On a slightly related note, does anyone have any good suggestions for a tailgate group name? Gruden's Gang is the best so far, but still looking for more ideas.

Oh, and I want one of those T-shirts I saw a bunch of pages ago!

Has to be "Gruden's Grinders".

he took a back up qb in rich gannon at kc and made him a star in oakland. And then went to the superbowl with brad freaking johnson and beat gannon. Brad. Freaking. Johnson.

I'll give ya Gannon, but also don't forget when he did get his chance in KC he played very well. That's what got him the look in Oakland. But again, I agree JG put in work with that guy.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Rod Wilks was one of the players contacted by Gruden. Could you imagine a defensive backfield coached by Rod Wilks? Keep up the Grud news.

Great post, I agree with a lot of that :good!:. Just to nit-pick, because I have experience in this field, NB-IOT (Narrow-Band, IoT) is really a variation of the LTE spectrum and is more a branch of 4G than 5G, as determined by the 3GPP (governing certification body for wireless standards). NB-IOT is for super low bandwidth applications and absolutely will not support streaming. It's designed for a few pings of data per day, max. Use cases include asset tracking and low-use applications (e.g. electrical meter reporting).

If Dish is doing anything, they're straight-up going for a full 5G (super high bandwidth) play. They'll probably go the way of a centralized communication hub in the home that can hot-spot wireless and provide all media (internet, phone, and probably home security & automation). I see all the major carriers going that way to be honest. Dish already has the tv market, they just need to capitalize on the other media market.

Very familiar with NB-IOT. I think Dish's long-term play is full 5G, Ergen has admitted it. I don't think, given that they have no equipment on the ground yet, they can do that by the 2020 deadline. I think the initial focus on NB-IOT is just to meet the FCC's deadline since it'll be easier/cheaper than a full 5G rollout. Ergen doesn't have the deep pockets of Verizon or AT&T and I'm not sure they'll have that level of 5G coverage in 2020.

I get the Christmas Vacation reference, but yes, serious.........as a heart attack.

I bet they trot Frank Caliendo out there as Gruden for the rest of the season after Gruden tells them that tonight is his last game and that he's coming to UT.
