"as Ive posted before, I am friends with a guy who announces SEC games for ESPN. Hes not a Tennessee fan, but obviously is closer to some of this than most folks. I have not checked in with him until tonight.
He had no idea on Gruden or anyone else, but did say the ESPN financial troubles are legit as everyone has seen in the news and the days of Gruden making $6mil+ are probably over. If ESPN did drop MNF, which is fairly likely, Gruden could easily get another gig at another network, but not anywhere near $6mil.
If Gruden wants to keep making $6-7mil, hell have to return to coaching. He may opt to make $2mil on Fox, who knows, but the financial situation is in fact much different today vs in the last few years. Not just 2012, but even last year when several decent NFL jobs were open.
Not groundbreaking, but more info on the situation being completely different than past Grumors."
