I think the pull to coach is stronger than some realize. I also think all the ties he has to the area make it a very attractive offer. I think probably at his age he realizes if he wants to coach again right now is a very good time to get back in. Family ties to the area, the money, the job, etc. I think you have to kick the tires on that kind of offer being close to family doing something you're passionate about and being close to family. All of that said I think ultimately he'll pass on the job, I think he already has passed on the job. I do think there was legit interest though.

I agree with all of this except that he passed or will pass. He might, but I don't think he has yet.

I think he takes it. The financial uncertainty at ESPN, the apparent displeasure with the political stuff going on with ESPN and the NFL, the ego and challenge of rebuilding Tennessee football, and keeping Momma happy. All of this taken as a whole makes a peck of sense.

It is depressing to go back and watch him talk about not adding to misinformation when asked about Gruden. Now that Butch is gone why would he need to steer people off the path? If Gruden is locked up, it should be announced this week. I'm still hopeful..

I just watched the Trey Wallace podcast or whatever they call it on Periscope. Interesting ten minutes. He puts Gruden chances at 60%, and says he knows UT has given him a great offer and the ball is in his court. TIFWIW

Nothing of substance really. Some say Gruden has an offer to think over. Others say he has signed with as many saying he said no. And of course other still say never offered and never will be. My money is on he has an offer and still deciding. But I am no insider, just hopeful.

That's kinda where I'm at, but I also think there's a good chance it happens. Currie not hiring a search firm tells me he has his guy already and he's confident in his choice.
