Nothing of substance really. Some say Gruden has an offer to think over. Others say he has signed with as many saying he said no. And of course other still say never offered and never will be. My money is on he has an offer and still deciding. But I am no insider, just hopeful.
Soon...
I agree on currie, I think he has whoever it is. Here's to hoping it's the big man.
Man, I hope so. He's the only coach that I think actually unites 99% of the fan base. There are other good coaches, but the realistic ones are all iffy.
Scott Frost - appears to be a homerun, but who really knows. He only has a season and a half as a head coach at a non P5 school.
Mullen - I'm not even going there.
Brohm - Not impressed. His body of work is not as good as people want to make it out to be.
Peterson - Not leaving Washington.
Patterson - You all read the recent article. Not a chance here.
Kelly - Only other one I would be excited about, but everyone runs a version of the offense that made him so lethal now and coaches have figured out how to defend it better.
Campbell - Appears to be ok, but again, not a huge body of work to go off of.
We need a homerun hire and there's just not that many out there right now. It has to be Gruden.
Just found this on facebook. I did not post this just thought I would share it. I call BS
Jeff Fisher set to be named as the Vols new head coach! Fisher will be bringing Ronnie Lott as his Defensive Coordinator, Ryan Nece as linebacker coach and Bruce Matthews as the offensive line coach! Those that have noticed Gruden around Knoxville have hoped he would be the next head coach of the Vols, but sources close to the program said he was hired as a consultant to put a coaching staff together. Ryan Nece played linebacker for Gruden at Tampa Bay and is the son of Ronnie Lott who was a teammate at USC with both Jeff Fisher and Bruce Matthews where they won a National Championship in 1978.
Campbell wouldn't be anything close to an upgrade
Kelly is a serious contender for Florida
Patterson hates Tennessee and Currie
Peterson might be unhappy about the time frame of games but he's where he wants to be
Brohm isn't ready for the big stage but he'd be a Tennessee pick
Mullen high buyout family is reportedly happy in Starkville
Frost is #2 at Florida or #1 at Nebraska would need a contract full of fine print and details
In the end I want Gruden but I bet it's someone like Miles
