He’s calling himself the stalking horse, isn’t he? It’s under his bio. He could have tweeted it, but choose to change his bio to that. Makes me nervous after reading the wiki about it.

Think about it like this:

[Beaver] is a figure that tests a concept [Gruden] with [the fan base and/or administration] and mounts a challenge against [Haslam] on behalf of an anonymous third party [Ergen]. If the idea proves viable or popular, then [Ergen] can then declare his interest and advance the concept with little risk of failure.

Someone asked me today how I would choose for Gruden to announce he’s taking the job. He said he wanted him to do it on MNF.

I said I would want him to make an account and post as himself in the Gruden thread. After 30+ threads, hundreds of thousands of posts, and millions of views, to have the man himself come in here and give us the news would have to be the best possible ending.

Was curious if anyone else had a “dream” way for UT or Gruden himself to announce the hire?

Or he could text you and you could post a screenshot.

I'm just teasing you.

See, GV? I make jokes.

Everyday the grudenites gather round their little campfire and feed it rumor and innuendo and wishful thinkin, but no facts. But still, their little fire flames up.

Every day people with rational minds tell the grudenites it aint happinin for you. And everyday those braindead grudenites go like: "You're mean ol trolls for pissin on our campfire".

You basically said we craft Grumors around the fire and then say we’re brain dead. Wut? Creative isn’t brain dead. So that part of your story is stupid anyway.

Testing Gruden with the fan base is the easiest test of all time.

During the LSU game, when we're up 21-9, at half time Currie walks out on the field,"I'd like to introduce the next coach of the Tennessee Volunteers, Jon Gruden". Neyland would EXPLODE!!!!

So his failure would be limited to here and Twitter?

I think he is, but honestly I don't think that is a problem.

It wouldn't serve his purpose if there was any other coach at the end of the charade. I think, if anything, he has been the stalking horse for the AD (and Currie).

He's vetted Gruden to all parties, demonstrated the wild success that such a hire would bring, and now they have verifiable data to bring to the AD (and the money counters).
