Speaking of Dooles.. I know they had a press conference at 2 on Sunday when he was fired. Does anyone remember when the release was made that they were going to have a press conference?

Honestly if Butch wanted to stick it to UT and derail a deal or throw a wrench in the plan he would donwhat he is doing, make it hard to keep him, each game we get embarrassed the heat gets turned up.

If the plan is to keep him til after Vandy (which Inhave always thought) Currie UT is going to earn their stripes on this one.

Would JG be using the Haslam jet, presumably to recruit new staff, for the past several weeks just to end up entertaining/accepting an offer from Tampa? Don't think both can be true. I'm hoping he wouldn't do that. I'm rolling w/ Boro and Trey Wallace's info.

My "sources" told me that if Gruden goes to the Bucks (yes did this intentionally), that our coach in waiting is Hal Mumme...and he is going to hire his buddy that coaches Pop-Warner football to be his OC/Recruiting Coordinator...(100% never going to happen)

Why does everybody think UT is supposed to be some powerhouse? Nobody cares about UT football west of Knoxville. Here in Nashville, it's Titans country, and there are about as many Bama fans here as Vols fans. UT football is an east Tennessee thing.

The Wallace info where he said he is at 65%? He may as well say 'it's a fluid situation. Things change at a moments notice.'

If those brokering the deal, and came to a verbal agreement that they didn’t want Butch to be fired mid-season....

then all Currie would have to say is ‘We’re not happy with the current UT football state, we want better, but we’ll reevaluate at the end of season”

He hasn’t. Thus I can only surmise, that Currie has left the window at least open to firing Butch before seasons end. And that no such “no mid-season” fire clause has been agreed upon by any party. And that he may not have any plan at all.

I want to believe JC has a plan, but the Grudemeter is awfully low.

I think this is the bigger point here. The only benefit of publicly firing butch now is it feels better and gives the fan base hope. The season / team is already lost.

Even if we have an interim coach the results on the field will be the same (or worse).

BUT.
With that being said. My feelings want Butch fired and HOPE for the future to begin. Because without that public knowledge we don’t KNOW that things will get better soon. All of our hope for next year and beyond is attached to our faith that he will eventually be fired. But since none of us are in the room where they will actually make the decision we won’t truly KNOW until it is public.

No one cares about the Titans. They can't even fill their own stadium.

Tennessee has a top 10 fan base in size, dude. You have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you here. There are examples every season of an interim taking over and sparking the team to win ball games. Heck Larry Scott did it at Miami. Lol

I agree Rage, but that does nothing for his future. But I agree I think the plan was to keep him through the year. If wading through 2 more games get us Gruden I can take it as much as Jones can. But like I have been saying if it's not Gruden and we keep him and we hire a head scratcher Currie is TOAST! That is not what I believe, but it is still true. Not a fan of interim coaches, and I have to believe there has to be a plan if they are not letting Jones go, anybody with a pulse can see he is in over his head. SOON!!!!!!! GET GRUDEN!!!!!!!
