What do we decipher out of the meeting that occurred with the boosters? Do we know any type of figure they were throwing around?

It seems that meeting would not be a good thing on the Gruden front since it was supposed to be a done deal and salary was already agreed on. I could see this being a sign that the AD is a little more behind on the search than we thought.

Its all about that prestigious coaching tree! I'd happily take him. And you're crazy if you dont think the gators aren't kicking his tires. But, Gruden is my #1

He may end up being great, but would like a little more experience first. I know he will get his chance this year, but I would rather have Patterson.

I have an extra riding lawnmower.

And about 50' of garden hose I can spare.

So I'll be taking my 8 year old daughter to her first game this Saturday. She is beyond excited, she might love the Vols even more than me lol. Anyways... I got seats in FF and this is only my 2nd game, and it was back in 2007 the last time that I went so I'm not all that familiar with the seats in Neyland. Is FF any good?

Also, I plan on taking her to the Vol Village before the game. Any other recommendations?

If you want to move down Section J usually has a lot of empty seats for games during Thanksgiving. Vol Village is great, hopefully she can meet Smokey and some cheerleaders. Take lots of pictures and have a great time!

I would like to proudly declare that I have successfully furthered the Gruden movement these last few weeks by proclaiming any and all positive (logical) GRUMORS from the collective sources of this site and others, saving the volunteer spirit that is slowly dying in those I meet. My overwhelming confidence in a theory that has little factual substance and thrives on creative speculation has managed to bring several on the fence to the side of belief and hope.

I have found my life's purpose 😁

Unless it was about money needed for staff?

I think we take from it what we can take from anything. We don’t know for sure on any front

Nobody on that list excites me. I respectfully disagree with the good list part.

Same here. None of those hires are gonna make many fans happy. One guy has a career losing SEC Record, another one has an overall losing record and at his first 2 HC jobs. And the other 2 are 2nd year coach's battling it out in a very mediocre non power 5 conference. None of those 4 I would trust with the biggest football hire in a very long time. He has to get this hire right or finally realize we are a middle of the pack SEC East school with a ceiling of 8-9 wins tops.

It's all been mentioned here.

I have a question if the grumors are true and Gruden gets 10.3 mil a year with no buyout does that also mean he owes no money to UT if he leaves. Let’s say NFL comes along and wants him he can pull a Kiffen on us and leave us high and dry owing nothing.

I’m not worried about the other because he’s not going to fail so no need to have to pay failure money. Which I never could stand paying a guy failure money to gtfo. Your paid enough while your actively coaching as it is.

Doug Matthews on Sunday had some good thoughts on coaching trees and what type of coach we need at Tennessee. He said we need one who understands the SEC and what it takes. BUtch didn't and didn't know how to recover once he realized that.

He even mentioned Muschamp who I don't care for but I think he would do great here.
