Me to I think it is the best thing/info we have there is no positive on his end that I can think of for not squashing it. And I’m sure he has to of thought of the backlash toward him in Knox for doing so.

I took the "Rocky top thing" on Seattle radio as Gruden possibly wanting to do something to show the fans he loves UT ...even though he's not in as the coach....so we won't all hate him. But it could be his way of throwing us a bone until the announcement is made. Or it could be just him jacking with us and making fun of us for his own enjoyment. Who knows. Of course I hope it's a done deal and we're just waiting for the announcement.

This was posted over in Reddit. Interesting but TIFWIW

Reddit post
They both won't say it's Gruden or not (AD/NF connect claims they "aren't sure who it is" while the Booster just won't tell me), but they both have separately verified this:
We will know Sunday/Monday who our next coach is.
If it's Gruden, it could be Tuesday because of MNF
Tennessee has snagged a very big fish
That's all I got. Not long friends! I'm just relived to know it's almost over. End

The only problem with the sunday monday angle is that since the regular season ends Saturday then that opens up the choices to anyone currently coaching

You may have answered this an infinite number of times already...and if so, I apologize in advance...but who would you be ok with? Every name I have seen mentioned you have adamantly been opposed to. Granted, I haven't seen all of your posts on the matter, but I <personally> haven't seen you sign off on anyone not named Jon Gruden.

Just curious who you'd approve of if Gruden says no.

I have answered it many times, and honestly my opinion shouldn't matter to anyone else.

Patterson
Peterson
Shaw
Harbaugh
Miles
Stoops
Kelly
Kiffin
Venables

There are others that would fit my personal criteria.

I just ask that we move the needle, make it apparent we are trying to go big. I don't want someone with short-term experience or success in a non-P5 program. We have tried that route. I prefer SEC experience, but sustained P5/ NFL success as a coordinator or HC should be a minimum.

It shouldn't be funny if UT is embarrassing itself nationwide tho, correct?

It's only embarrassing if it's allowed to continue and we don't get Gruden and that will not be on the fans but the AD and Gruden. I don't believe either are foolish enough to let it play out that way. That's what I'm hanging my hat on and why I'm 100% Gruden. If I'm wrong, TN will be in a very dangerous place.

You guys who feel like you need an avenue to debate the anti-Gruden side and let everyone know how silly it all is, here’s a great place to do so.

Time to Move on From Gruden Talk?

All opinions welcome.
