If you read further into the papers and the entire court documents (that are available online), you will see that it is was an open secret at PSU that Sandusky had a thing for little boys, even calling the football facilities "the daycare" due to the number of kids that were around (especially for Sandusky's overboard interest in holding ball camps). People knew and people covered it up.

I'd want nothing that was associated with PSU during those years anywhere near Knoxville. They might not have seen it, but they sure as hell heard about it or the rumors about it.

I am conflicted, while I am proud of Vol Nation for saying "No" to Schiano, I wonder if he was the current UT coach, with a winning SEC record when the details of allegations came out, would that outrage still be there? Or would it be, "those boys are just trying to get a paycheck."

Sexual abuse is sexual abuse. If we hold these standards now (as we should) we better hold them from here on out. No more talk about, "she's making it up" or "she just changed her mind" when/if future players are accused of sexual assault.

I am proud that Vol Nation drew a line in the sand, but don't ever back down from that line or all this was just hypocrisy.

Overlook the idiotic attempt in the article to spin this into an indictment of the UT fan base. Read the quotes from the testimony. That McQueary Guy names Shiano specifically. He recalls the incident clearly. Yes, it’s second hand. No, it doesn’t mean that Shiano is necessarily guilty. It DOES mean that we have every right to not want these allegations swirling around our head coach. It’s not unreasonable.

I really don't care who the coach is. I have no horse in the race. I just think it is totally unfair to a man to take a job away, based on second hand hearsay from an incident which may or may not have happened 20-25 years ago.

All it amounts to is that the fans didn't get who they wanted, and whipped themselves into a frenzy to get their way. I'm embarrassed because we look like a lynch mob, and the lynchee may be totally innocent. One would have thought that we hired Sandusky from the response.

It's not unreasonable at all to keep your distance from the allegations. In fact, that coupled with the fact that I think he's a mediocre football coach are why I'm not upset he won't be coming here.

Unfortunately, wanting to keep your distance and the crucifiton that the UT fan base carried out today are far from the same thing.

What really scares me is that there are those on this board, trying to defend being around child molesters, and either knowing and doing nothing, or being so ignorant and unaware of their surroundings as to not know. In either case, this is not the guy we want as our HC-nor anyone like him. There is a special hell for child molesters-they are the lowest form of life, along with those that support/enable them.
