Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Congrats!
I am professionally retired.
Not gonna go work in a box 8 hours a day..no fraeking way after 25 years of semi autonomous freedom
I gotta do something. Not all of us can be ND and play X-Box all day (sorry bro just kidding).

Gonna move back to Gods Country, spend valuable time with my parents. My Mom is 83 and lives alone, my Father has dementia and may not even know me next week. Maybe music, maybe charity work, maybe contract work.
But my the grace of the Lord..I will not sacrifice personal and family relationships for money any more. And bye bye shithole Atlanta and driving around all this mess. Must of driven a million miles. In my career.

He owns Calhouns and a few other restaurants. Real piece of ****. Sexually harasses his employees, didn't compensate a family of a cook who died in one of his grease traps, left his infant son in a car and let him die while he was getting loaded in one of his bars.
he also shorted my mom a biscuit back in 1994, we never went back

new conspiracy theory..Tom Sholz sped up his guitar on recordings. He was supposed to be in LA to record the guitar work for Dont Look Back, and recorded them at his home studio. Dude really struggles to play with any clarity on any live performance.Real sloppy and having played these songs a zillion times, just cant.

Need help guys. Broke a nut off of this bolt holding the rear catalytic in place. How the hell am I gonna get this threaded stud out? Will 2 nuts work side by side? Bottom photo is its twin...which actually came out the way its supposed to (i think) note the flat spot in the middle with no threads..20250503_164905.jpgnote that all threads are in same direction...its not counter threaded on 1 side...already had to go buy a cheater bar 20250503_164958.jpg

^^^ this setup would make sense to me if the flanges on the cat were NOT threaded...and the stud was:

Threads > flat spot > counter threads
With a nut on both sides...but the flange IS threaded, and there are only nuts on 1 side of the bolt as in photo2 ???

Well...tried the double nut technique and it didn't work. Also both nuts now stuck on that rusty bolt. Damnit. I have been spraying penetrating oil on all these rusted exhaust bolts and thats likely the only reason i have been able to get most of them off.

I need to get this one stupid pictured bolt out of there, and 2 more out of 3 from the front flange of the front cat, and it will all be loose and come off. The cavalry aint coming guys...i cant afford to take it to a mechanic. I have to get this stupid cat off this truck.

Angle grinder and cut a notch in the end of the bolt. Unscrew with a common screw driver

I might try this honestly. Have had to do it before. Maybe I can heat those flanges up with a can torch and get them to expand, then thread it out with a flathead. Will have to be really careful with the flame, since i am working under there. Had to remove the front passenger wheel and liner (and a heatshield) just to be able to get a ratcheting socket to the bolts. The nuts are on the firewall/engine side where you cant get a socket over them...when they could have absolutely been the other way around so that you could get to them. Terrible engineering. Everything i have done on this v3hicle has been harder than it ever should be due to dumb crap like that. Nissan must get the engineers that Honda and Toyota fire or something. Good grief. Wonder why theyre nearly bankrupt and wanting a merger?
