Bob Johnson and my brother were friends... my brother told me his dorm was in South Stadium which was basically inside the bowels of Neyland. He volunteered for the Army after he graduated and did a least a tour in Viet Nam with the 101st.I may well have seen your brother around. I started in '64, quit in '67, and returned after Army and working while my wife finished nursing school - got back to UT in '72 as I recall.
I had a few classes in that building (Dougherty) - mostly metallurgical engineering as I recall. As far as football and engineering go, they mostly exist in different worlds. I did talk sometimes with Bob Johnson - he was in engineering and we generally made the walk from engineering classes to AFROTC about the same time. I also knew Bert Ackermann from Oak Ridge - worked in his department under a graduate research assistantship. Bert played at UT and was an SEC official for many years. Not really many engineering/football crossovers - probably has a lot to do with the time demanded by both.

The Hudson variety? Those things had a 308 cu in flathead straight six that dominated NASCAR for a while.
