I didnt know the AC130 gunships had a 105mm cannon that could hit targets 15km away?!? I knew about the 30mm chainguns and miniguns(modern Gatling). I had also never seen footage from the ground looking up at the business end of these weapons. Good grief man! Might actually be worse than looking up to see an A10 coming...I watched this 3 or 4 times already 😄

I think they are taking them off some of the AC130s. I forget the exact amount but when they fire that it kicks the back of the plane a couple feet over. and there was something basic they can't do while firing it, it might have been turning a certain direction, angled a certain amount, or maybe even just flying straight.

Thats great 👍. Amazing airplanes too. One of the longest in service after the B52s etc. Its also cool that when flying the engines run the same speed all the time and thrust is varied by the pitch of the propellers. Dont know if theres any other aircraft like that? Speaking of the cannon moving the aircraft...i know that A10s have a minimum airspeed below which they cannot use the BRRRRRT autocannon in the nose because it will cause the aircraft to stall. The recoil reduces airspeed that much which is insane too. The designers of those 2 aircraft were geniuses and deserve high praise. Everytime i watch a youtube video about them, there are several posts from soldiers/marines thanking the pilots and aircrews for the CAS that saved their lives when they were surrounded or in trouble. Apparently A10/AC130 pilots dont pay for alcohol any time grunts are around.

I dont think we have the same quality of designers and engineers that we used to have. Even the F22 and F35 are 20+ year old designs now. Maybe its all just so high tech that we are actually keeping secrets away from China etc for a change? Not saying that the improved versions of the F15 and F18 arent important...they are...and you can buy a couple of them for the price of an F35 which other than stealth they can outrun, outturn, and bring 3x as much missiles or bombs to the fight. Those arent innovations though. Hopefully that Green Beret and the Navy UFO videos are right and we actually have gravity based drives we are working on. That will turn the world upside down 😄

Had the same experience in AZ about 6 years ago. I had to look up Cafe Americano to see what it was. Apparently, it's basically watered-down espresso. It became a thing in WWII when American soldiers in Europe wanted coffee and they apparently only had espresso.

The current versions don’t. At least not the active duty ones out of Hurlburt. The guard/reserves used to operate out of Duke (no idea if those units are still active or not) and they normally had the prior load out. The last one I remember having the 105 was the U model. The rest of the load out was a 40mm Bofors and dual 20 mm 6 barrel Gatlings. The 20’s were later removed I believe as they were not very effective at range.

Edit: just watched the video. I am pretty sure the 105 was taken off of the active duty units aircraft and I think they replaced it with missiles.

Thanks ND. I posted it here figuring you and others likely knew something about it. Coming from an AF family, I have loved planes my whole life and been to a bunch of airshows etc. We used to go grab icecream before dark and just sit in my dads car/truck or on the hood and watch them takeoff and land at dusk. Hill AFB was good for that and they always had F16s there with other aircraft that would rotate in and out. Other bases too. We have always built the most beautiful and awe inspiring aircraft in the world. I would rather be a fighter pilot than an NFL QB or any other job. Luckiest men on Earth IMO.

Sounds pretty optimistic about 2nd season of American Primeval. Its #1 on netflix now, so demand and $$$ likely to be high for a reprisal. There are spoilers in that article though so dont read it if you havent watched the show.

I just finished episode 4. I'll finish it tonight. It has been fantastic so far. I hope they make a Season 2.

Sounds like the appraiser is incompetent to me…… and what is the definition of a “finished ceiling”?
I run into this type of thing with some of the insurance company loss control reps from time to time. It’s as if they try to hire the most ignorant person to represent them to prevent sales from being made.

I see posts all the time here about Chop getting an on field position. Apparently as of 2024 season he has an on field position. They did away with that restriction. Years ago in Houston we hired a new office administrator who was an immigrant from Ukraine. She always sent me email..in ALL CAPS..

After a few, I responded why are you always yelling at me. Never got a response, but must of upset her, because when I saw her, she said she had spoken to someone else in office and was wondering why I would say such a thing..She was told what in meant in America and became quite embarrassed and apologized to me.. Poor thing..lol

Never heard of this. Reject the appraisal and request another.
