Excellent posts and info guys. My HS class was 1995...the last years of the 302 mustangs were my 10th grade year in 93...i know those cars are classics now..ha ...sadly..and make half the hp of the new ones..but i would love to have a 302 trunk car. I am sure you can get 1 cheap, but unless it was recently restored, which would make it not cheap...it would need a new engine, transmission/clutch, interior, paint, everything. To me, they are still very pretty cars, especially the silver cop versions. Would love, love, love to have one. Anyway, thanks for sharing info guys...i dont know if all my buddies believed a myth or if the NC patrol cars really were 351s..one of my buddies in HS had a 302 with a paxton super charger though, and it was very fast with over 400hp. Only car ive ever ridden in that could break the tires loose going into 4th somewhere around 100mph...granted, they were street tires, and i am sure werent as good as tires today. It was still crazy to hear it though and feel the back of the car slide sideways spinning when doing twice the speed limit.
