Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Pretty sobering experience, huh? Been there.
I’ve been there twice. On the second visit the crowd was getting a tad loud and the guard did his prepared speech after stepping off the mat and facing us.

Christine Ford should look into the voice coach for those young people. Pretty sure I could have heard him clearly at the Lincoln Memorial. And he wasn’t shouting or screaming he spoke very clearly.

This offense makes the Clawfense look like the 49'ers under Bill Walsh. Charlotte gave up 45 points to Appy State and 49 to UMass.

Well fellas...that Auburn win as Dink said is looking legit but it's also looking like an anomaly. Sorry to say this but i dont see much difference as a team between pruitt and cbj. I hope i am just being myopic and revisionist. There are improved undividuals and less injuries. But like Butch we could not dominate a lesser opponent.

I heard them say during the broadcast that there were only two players on the team that Pruitt recruited while at Alabama. I do think this is a very Butch team, I’m hoping a couple new classes will change that. Really bad game overall, if not for a penalty on that punt it would most likely have been a 7-3 game.

I get that. I really do. But these are still D1 athletes who are trotting out on the field. Are Charlotte's defenders bigger, stronger or smarter than ours?. Remember when Appy State OL whipped our DL?
I want CJP to succeed. I want him to recruit amazingly. But i also want to see some freakin improvement in what he has to work with.

IMO, we're a better team other than the OL. Our defense is fine. Our offensive skill players would be fine with legitimate blocking. I'm not out to defend Pruitt, but realistically it's our OL play that is killing us. We lost our two best OL and now we're playing with a patchwork line pieced together with sub-par players mostly recruited by the previous staff.

Brother, it was our defense which crapped their shorts last week.
It is both O and D just (mostly) at different times .

I know this will make me sound like a homer, but I honestly believe our D forced a fumble(that we recovered) at the goal line last week the refs didn't call. Is our defense excellent? Absolutely not, but I do believe it's good enough to keep us in games. Sure, they make mistakes, but I do think they're better than last year.

It doesn't make you sound like a homer. My point, even with a turnover and a team win last week the defense STILL crapped the bed. I want wins. But at this point i care more about looking like a real SEC team than i do Ws.

I get that, but given the crapstorm he inherited, Pruitt needs time to recruit his players. And I know that sounds like a broken record because it's the same thing we hear with every new coach, but it's also true. You talked about improvement in another post. IMO, we've seen improvement everywhere except the OL, and Pruitt is addressing that in recruiting.

Ive seen improvement. I have NOT seen a lot of consistency. Gotta have both. I hope his guys make a big difference. Im having more difficulty generating interest in UT football after each suck year.
