Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

I'm getting me a pair of cowboy boots.....because I want to.....and to aggravate the wife and daughters. They don't like them, but I don't give a damn.
Any of you guys have a history with the various skins? I'm leaning toward leather or distressed leather, but lizard or caiman would most likely be better aggravators.
Any suggestions or past experiences?
Distressed leather

So first things first. You want squared toes, rounded toes, or cockroach killers? Squared heels or cut in heels? And for your first pair I’d recommend a nice pair of good ole cowhide to start and from there. Find the boot form that fits your foot and style and THEN drop some money on the material. I’ve always just stuck with cowhide.

I personally hate square toes.

As do i. But they are in the decision matrix. And they are fairly functional for an everyday farm work boot.

The Justin Apaches I linked above are my favorites. Classic, simple, comfortable, and fairly functional. Only the smallest cockroaches in the tightest corners can escape them.

Shepler’s or Boot Barn will have Black Friday sales. I am partial to Lucchese’s but their exotics can be pricey. You do need to go somewhere and try them on to figure out what width and toe you prefer, also sizes can differ slightly between brands. They should be a bit tight at first but will fit to your foot with wear.

Those would be the crowning achievement and ultimate enhancement in my efforts to troll the wife and kids.
My daughter was in a summer basketball league at Ensworth and we had to take two cars and meet at the gym once so I left the house separately. I wore the crocs I wear around the house just to freak them out. I figured Ensworth with all the artsy fartsy would be as good of a place as any.
