i just don't see the fun in running around the map with the chainsaw up. it really takes away from the game IMO

It's not like I do it all the time. I mean, I will pull out a shotty and plant grenades. I actually do play to win. However, the chainsaw, by far and away, is my favorite weapon on the game. And I guess it's my favorite for the same reason that most vets of Gears 1 hate the weapon, it takes no skill, and it's very easy to sneak up on people, even with that damn thing revving.

now that the matchmaking seems to have gotten a little better, the only thing that really bothers me currently about gears 2 is the chainsaw. it's still borderline impossible to escape from people running around the map holding the B button.

on another note i finished up my 50 horde on the new snowblind maps so im about finished up with the achievos in this game..i may hit level 50 in the new ranking system and get that achiev..but no way ill ever see 100..too much to rank up to.

yeah i read that where people were doingit...while id love to finish it out..no way id pay for someone to do that and have a chance they'd steal my account...not worth it.

BTW what lvl are you duckman? I hit 29 today and it will take like 10k points to rank up again..i can only imagine how long you'd have to play to get 100 legit

The only thing they should've changed about GOW1 was the party system. They completely ruined that game IMO and by ruined it, I mean dumbed it down. GOW2 doesn't take half as much skill to play. Boring.

I've played a little the last couple of days and made it to level 10. The game play still isn't much better after the last update. At this point, it is what it is I suppose.

after last night, I think Gears 2 is going to the never to be played again can. It sucks.

that, and also that the shotty has been drastically changed probably has alot to do about it.

thats true..as long as everyone is on the same playing field though it doesnt bother me..well ofcourse host still has a nice advantage and it appears the 'two piece' is not as affective as in the first one.

i'm still surprised at the number of guys on here that have deemed this game "unplayable" though. gears 2 has its faults, don't get me wrong. but there are many more pros than there are cons IMO. most of the issues like matchmaking, glitches, and bugs have been fixed by now. things like the shotty, chainsaw, and smoke grenades are just things that have to be accepted as part of the game at this point.

My first issue is that you are running in mud compared to the movement in GOW1. Going back to one has really showed me how much they messed that up. My second issue is the amount of time spent to get a match going. Despite multiple updates, this still continues. Last night we changed twice and still spent 20 minutes to get one match. Then we had two people quit in the first round and got stuck with computer drones. The matchup system sucks as well. Our ranks were 2, 1, 2, 10, and 7. We were matched up against no one less than 25. The third problem is I want to pick my maps...nuff said about that one. The shotgun sucks compared to GOW and the smoke/stun thing is a bust. I have never had a problem with playing off host. But, a rotating host would be nice so when the host quits, it does not end the game for everyone.

its not near as unbearable as it used to be. i honestly don't think the wait times are that bad now. it usually only takes me a minute or so to get into matches (most of the time)

I am glad that you like the game duckman. I am not hating on you by any means. I just prefer the first one so much more. I am hoping that 3 will be much improved. I may put the game in again, but my last exp sucked so bad I doubt it.
