Official Gears Thread 1&2

A bit overdue but I finally finished up all Gears 1 achievements with This! Is! Annex! tonight.
1250/1250

oh, Gears 1 >>>>>>>>>> Gears 2 scratch that.....a bowl of horse manure > Gears 2.

currently playing through the gears 2 campaign on insane and it hasn't been all that bad so far(midway through act 5). insane on gears 1 gave me alot more trouble, especially with raam at the end. i had to co-op that fight to take him down. doubt i have that problem in this one since the final "boss" in gears 2 is a complete joke......

Anybody else played this since the last update? Less of a chainsaw fest now..you can actually pause it instead of that huge vacuum it used to have.

sold mine for RE5. I think I might get it back on gamefly if the updates are any good.

still not sure if i'll buy the snowblind map pack right away. trying to save up my microsoft points for the new fallout 3 DLC in april.

gave in and bought the snowblind map pack tonight and i have to say its worth the money. i've yet to play underhill, but courthouse and grindhouse are great. and fuel depot in the winter is a beautiful thing.

yeah i like them..just need to finish up the 1-50 Horde mode on one of those maps to finish them up..did all 4 up to 10 last night.

is there a way to play horde specifically on those maps without going to private matches? it seems like you can filter all of the game options on those maps except for horde. the same goes for the combustible maps.

also, did they get rid of players choice for the shipped maps? i didn't see it on there anymore last night.

no..you can only play the maps that came with the game on public for Horde..you have to play the DLC on private.

hadnt noticed the players choice since i usually just play territory..but i like the fact now that i can vote for just Annex or KOTH and usually get Annex

that really sucks. it seems like it wouldn't be that hard to implement a "horde" option to the new map packs.

IMO, they are both great games. but either way, you better get used to the gameplay of gears 2 if you're going to continue the series. i highly doubt epic goes back to the gameplay of the first game for gears 3. they'll more than likely just build off of what they have.

now that the matchmaking seems to have gotten a little better, the only thing that really bothers me currently about gears 2 is the chainsaw. it's still borderline impossible to escape from people running around the map holding the B button.

My buddies have nicknamed me "Mr. B Button", because I'm pretty handy with the lancer's chainsaw. If I didn't have a chainsaw, I doubt I'd even get a kill per game.

They also joke around and say, "well, we know it's Nick if you hear chainsaw, and then he gets blown away by a shotgun"
