We recently had a chance to play through Gears of War 2's entire single-player campaign (yes, you read that correctly) at an event in San Francisco, and we found it to be an intense, enjoyable experience that improved upon the first game in a number of ways. Before we get into the oh-so-gory details, we should preface things by noting that Gears 2 feels a lot like the first game, so much so that there will inevitably be complaints that it could be called Gears of War 1.5. To those people we say: Quit your whining! Complaining about another 12 to 15 hours of hot Gears action is like complaining about having too much money in your wallet or that your suitors are bringing you too many bouquets of flowers.

From what I have seen of the demos, the gameplay hasn't changed much but IMO that is not a bad thing

ummm not really. It was just me when you first signed on and then waited around and Glancing got on. We were full the other night though. I might play around 9 or so tonight. Been at work since 3pm yesterday...now sleepy time.

I will say that I'm a couple hours in now and it's been f'n sweet so far. Very fast paced and action packed.

Will a hardcore FPS shooter guy find this fun or frustrating. The word I've heard (never having played GOW1) is that it is all show and no go.

Well, it's not a FPS so that might be one reason you wouldn't like it.

I think it's cool as hell and a few of my friends playing it now also are enjoying the hell out of it. Lots of people loved the first one and this is more of the same but with much better graphics and a seemingly better and more epic storyline.

I have no idea what your tastes are, though. Borrow Gears 1 from a friend to see what it's like or rent this one when it comes out.

Why is nobody playing GOW anymore? You all can't get me hooked on it and then disappear, that's just mean. I was just finally perfecting my beatdowns with the hammerburst.
