Official Depth Chart for 2011

I doubt we're going to line up Arnett at wideout. There's a chance if we're going only 2 WR that he gets more time than Rodgers(doubtful imo) but you usually don't put a 6'1" 165 lb guy on the outside. He's extremely quick so his best chance to start will be in the slot.

I think he meant Zach.

Edit: Just noticed someone beat me to this.

Its that we will finally have some depth (albeit inexperienced depth) again after 2 seasons without it.

B. Moore seems to be the real deal, but no way do I see him taking Waggner's spot. Maybe CB2 over Teague or SS over Brewer is more reasonable.

10-2 huh

really dude, really?

Hell Yeah! Alabama will have a new Qb. LSU still won't have one. Florida won't have one either. Not scared of UGA. South Carolina will be good, but if Simms doesn't give them the game like he did last year, they are beatable. This year, we beat them at home. Frankly, Simms lost the Oregon game and the Florida game as well. We should have been up on the Ducks 20-3 early. Then there was that pick-6 that replay shows he went out of his way to throw (UGH). Terrible pick in the Florida game also. Equally as important as the picks, he could not lead us to the endzone. The LSU game could have been won on offense too. As bad as folks think we were, ingame blunders are why we lost every game we lost last year. The game at Arkansas will be tough, but they can get it too. So with better QB play and improved defense, we fear no one!!! We can beat anyone. Are you scared, cuz I ain't?

CDD-'Next year’s team, 70 percent of our roster will probably be freshmen and sophomores. We’re going to be one of the youngest teams in the country next year.'

OW game should be interesting...let's hope we don't lose anyone to stupid BS.

DT looks really strong with Walls, Jackson, Hughes and the Gangster of Love. I suspect Ben Martin will return to start on one end.

With that being said, I think this team goes 10-2 in the regular season with losses to LSU and Bama. I believe we get a rematch with LSU in the SEC championship game, beat them and go to a BCS bowl. Wishful thinking, but other than linebacker, I really like this team.

You need to rename this, "Official Unrealistic Expectations Thread."

Smith, Jackson, Hughes, and Miller is going to be a solid starting defensive front.

I don't see both Lane and Smith getting redshirted at RB.

I would watch for Antonio Richardson maybe overtaking Dallas Thomas at LT at some point in the season.

I would also watch for DeAnthony Arnett at slot. I agree Zack gets the starting nod at first, but if Arnett comes in as good as advertised, watch out.

Don't see AJ starting over Probst at MLB, and I sure as hell don't see Askew ahead of Probst on the depth chart. The staff is high on Probst's abilities at MLB.

Also don't see Devrin Young or Pat Martin playing CB. Devrin Young will not redshirt because he will be a factor in the KR game, and I'm pretty sure Martin will be a S.

Brewer really showed great promise at S last year so I doubt Randolph jumps him for that spot unless they decide to move Brewer to LB which I doubt.

I see Ben Martin starting over Miller at DE. I think Miller might be used at DT this season.

Great list though overall it looks pretty accurate to me except in a few spots. Those were just my opinion though. I'm looking forward to see how the roster pans out.

1. So we're gonna play 5 running backs?

2. Not a chance. True freshmen rarely play and they even more rarely start @ left tackle. As is, Thoma, is our best lineman at the moment, so that makes it even more unlikely.

3. The illusions of how many true freshman will play recurs every year.

4. Agree on AJ. His size/speed ratio is also not a good sign for typical success at the collegiate ranks at the LB position.

5. Young will need to beat out Arnett & Vincent to get into the return game mix enough not to redshirt.

6. Agree, Randolph won't jump Brewer. Randolph needs to add weight as is, and may redshirt.

7. Agree on Martin over Miller as a starter. Miller didn't really flash a lot of potential this year, as is, and may be slotted for DT duty with more weight and size added.

young wont redshirt because there is no reason to,because they redshirt to get bigger or stronger ,he will never get much bigger
