Official Coaching Search Thread

I refuse to say no to anyone. I said no to the Mullen idea last time, so my track record isn't great in this area...

Bill Clark always has a tough team, he'd be alright but further down my list.
Dave Doeren is just Butch 2.0
Tony Elliot and Rhett Lashlee: No, we've tried the coordinator trying to learn to be a HC before, not again.
Luke Fickell would be a great hire, but probably is fine staying at Cincy. Though being left our of the playoffs despite being undefeated has to hurt.
Hugh Freeze is doubful because of the NCAA stuff, given what we are about to go through.
Will Healy, no we've hired a coach with a losing record from a small school Turns out, not usually winners.
Tom Herman is definitely the most attainable mostly because he's not currently coaching anywhere. He did fairly well at Texas, he did really well coaching Sam Ehlinger up. He needs a solid defensive staff obviously, but Kevin Steele is on staff already.
Gus would be alright, but if we are going retread, I'd rather go with Herman.
Billy Napier would be a homerun hire.
Steele is just our last resort.

Reasonable write up, but if we hire anyone from the University of Alabama tree, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna...
Lane not in your write up?
Herman, reasonable and needs a serious look
Napier, just don't know if we can cope with a pro coach nor non Power 5 coach

I don’t want to hire any coach that has even sniffed Tuscaloosa.

I personally think that the administration has learned their lesson and know who they are going to get....but just in case.

Go nuts.

I’m sure some of you have seen me express my feelings towards Kiffin.

However, I’m willing to give him another chance to redeem himself. He’s done a good job at Ole Miss in a short time he’s been there.

Not my first choice but I wouldn’t oppose to it.

He is My first choice. He left us for his supposed “ dream job”. Can’t fault him for that. He would kill it here.

We will fart around for weeks hiring an AD so we’re a long way off getting a coach. Going to blow the February signing period and we’ll probably need it.
Let’s not rush it and get another Dooley. Let’s make the right freaking hire for once and if that takes some time, so be it. Will need an AD before we make a HC hire.

One thing is for sure, we’re all not going to be in agreeance, most everyone thinks their choice is the best hire.
