Reality, a new AD will not be in place before the end of February to perform a HFC search, too late as most names are off of the board. Secondly, there isn't a "name" coach that will even think about taking the UT job with potential NCAA sanctions . . . which leads to CKS to take the "interim" HC title until the end of the 2021 season.

The way UT has handled this is appalling . . . players, recruits, coaches and staff have been twisting in the wind for a month AND the only thing we know is that Pruitt has been dismissed with "cause" and ADPF is retiring. What a fuster cluck . . .

Good point about Freeze in light of the situation.

You can't have an informed position that UT screwed this up until you are informed of the details of the situation. However, the recent track record supports your assumption.

I say Steel is interim until there is a new AD. Even then, he might stay interim for the year until some sanctions are served.

Jeff Fisher is a below average coach whom has amassed barely a .500 record over a few decades. He got fired for getting progressively worse. He is 62 years old and has NEVER coached a down in college football. He is an old school type of coach that has been out of coaching for almost 5 years.

Basically he is an older Pruitt with less experience at the college level.

Talk about misinformed. What do you think is a successful winning percentage in the NFL over 10 years? you realize that surviving as a coach in the NFL for 10 years is 'successful', right?

Totally agreed on coaching. But the other stuff seems to be real. I actually expect it’s even worse than what’s reported, which would explain the fact he hasn’t gotten scooped up yet. Otherwise, he checks a lot of boxes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay on as an Intern HC through this year, especially if it's fairly harsh penalty. As usual with TN, we are in a wait and see!

This was an internal investigation, not an NCAA investigation. It will be years before any NCAA penalty comes down.

How long are we thinking this hire will take? I can’t imagine what this place is going to be like between now and then.
