What did you expect him to say? “Yeah, I think he sucks and Coach Fulmer should be ashamed of his hire.”

Come on, man. Think before you post. Surely you can understand Peyton would say that about any coach he wasn’t involved in hiring.

Steele was 9-36 (1-31 in conference) in four years as Baylor head coach. He was demonstrably worse at Baylor then Pruitt was here. You want to hire someone from Baylor hire Matt Rule who was turned them back around.

Yeah, it's called derivatives of an equation that can contextualize information and provide deeper insights... You CAN and you SHOULD make attempts to rationalize all numbers when comparing things that aren't equal... To not do so is just low effort, low brow, low intelligence armchair QBing... Maybe that's perfect for you, because that's really all you seem capable of - low intelligence thought processes... So yes, your take is EXTREMELY uninformed...

Yeah but that was back in the day when baylor was nothing(similar to Kansas now) nobody was going to win there back then. I'm not advocating for Steele to be hc here just saying Baylor is a different program now

Dude they were 8-25 3 years prior to him arriving there. Baylor was the equivalent of Vandy/Kentucky in the 90’s. The high level of experience/responsibility as a DC/LB coach since then at major top programs is stellar. Lots of years in the game since then.
I don’t want him to be the HC here. It’s an offensive game now...high scoring with bend/don’t break defenses for the majority in college football including this conference. We need an exciting younger hire but with a track record of winning/building a winning program. But to say he’s the same guy now as back then is bull $#!t.4C4E1893-5849-4AF6-A316-2602C0F8D655.png

From what I’ve read, that was 18 years ago, and after that has served under an impressive list of HC. I’m not advocating for him, simply pointing out there’s been a lot of time since Baylor and maybe he’s better prepared to be a P5 HC now. I’m glad I’m not the one who is going to have to make this decision. One thing I am certain of, no matter who gets hired, they are going to have to win over a host of people who believe he was not the right one. We

Right he hasn't been given another head coaching job in 18 years. It took a real coach like Art Briles to turn them around. WE need to be turned around. WE need a culture change. WE need a proven coach.
