Successful coaches who flamed out like Howland did, tend to come back strong. Look at Eustachy as an example. Coaches have egos, and to be humbled like that lights a fire.
I was lukewarm on Howland until I heard he would likely bring Korey Mcray with him. This would be huge for recruiting in Atlanta area. That gives me more excitement about Howland.
One thing I like about Howland is he has done it different regions of the country, which tells me that he hires assistants that know their region well.
Howland is my #1, but I don't think UT goes with him simply because I believe Dave Hart is a bit power mad and he doesn't want his coaches to have more power than him, hence Gruden was not hired and I believe Howland will demand a lot of power. Can I get a few more powers?! :loco:Howland is a risk worth taking but I don't believe Hart would pull the trigger on it. UT just doesn't make daring moves like that.
