How is Duke not in??
5 automatic bids to the 5 highest rated conference champions. Expected to be Big 10, Big 12, SEC, ACC and Group of 5.
This year the 5 highest rated conference champions are the Big 10, Big 12, SEC and two group of 5 since the two group of 5 teams are rated higher than Duke (the ACC champion)

Norte Dame should got in over a 3 lose Alabama team. rigged comminte.

Why?

Bama was 10-2 with better wins.

Should they be penalized for having the balls to be in the best power 4 conference and play in the conference championship game?

Screw ND and their weak schedule and fear of joining a power 4 conference.

TNT is getting screwed on that Saturday. Can’t believe they put Ole Miss and Tulane at 3:30 and Oregon and JMU as the night cap. They at least could’ve put Miami vs aTm at night instead of 11am local kickoff . What were they possibly thinking about? Not only are the G5 teams is this years CFP not good, there’s no star power with these teams. It’s not Boise out there w/ Jeanty, it’s JMU and the 120ish sos that are 3 touchdown dogs. There needs to be some stipulations going forward to keep this from happening. These G5 teams aren’t worthy of this years Playoff. Like I said in a different post, give me Notre Dame at Oregon and Texas or Vandy at Ole Miss . That’s what this should be about. Not some March Madness wannabe “well Directional State school for the blind makes it to the sweet 16 in basketball, so let’s give them a chance” crap. If you’re gonna keep the G5 in its current state expand the CFP .

A true, honest playoff wouldn’t consist of a narrative/mind set of “all conferences are equal” by the committee. They’re not, and the SEC should probably have six teams in and ND should be in. Quality wins/record, final ranking and sos should be lead qualifiers with conference championships given less weight in the sense that a top 10 team shouldn’t take a big hit for losing to another top 10 team. More changes to be made. Letting a couple of “feel good” teams in the playoff that would get run off the field by the rest of the pack is ridiculous. That’s all it is at a basic level.
That's the whole problem. All conferences aren't equal so the rankings can't be equal either.
As far as I'm concerned kick the G5 out and just take the 4 major conferences SEC,B1G,ACC,B12.
SEC has 16 teams, ACC has 17, B12 has 16 and B10 has 18. Have the ACC and B10 drop down to 16 teams.
Then have 8 conference games 3 cross conference games and 1 G5/Cupcake game with G5 game being game 1 for everyone.
Take the top 4 out of each conference if you want the 16 team play off, other wise top 3 out of each conference for a 12 team playoff.
No more of this CFP committee feels rankings.

The Oregon game time is later because a 3:30pm ET game is an 11:30am PT game. West Coast games will always be late games.

So why is it ok for Texas A&M to have an 11 am local kickoff, but not Oregon? Plus, I was under the impression that a 3:30 EST kickoff for Oregon would be 12:30 PST. I was thinking it was a 3 hour difference.

Probably seeding gets Oregon a better time and the desire by the CFP to get as many West Coast eyeballs as possible.

And I'm pretty sure Oregon went to PT for almost all of the state a few years ago.

Edit: I'm wrong. It is -3, not -4 for PT. My bad. I don't fly much anymore.

You do know 'the rules' allow for one Group of 5 with no chance every year. Miami moved ahead of Notre Dame, because they didn't want to have the ACC shutout. Had Virginia won, Notre Dame would have been picked over Miami. The 12 team playoff is a money making farce. Did you notice all the talking heads for 3 or 4 weeks were screaming how Miami should be in over Notre Dame, and now their screaming Notre Dame got cheated. This is the indoctrination process of going for a 16 team playoff. Which by the way would put Notre Dame and Ohio St. in 99 times out of 100. Let's change the name of the CFP to the Notre Dame/Big 10 invitational. Just think what a 16 team playoff would do -- Notre Dame, Ohio St., Michigan, Oregon and a 4th Big 10 team would be in every year.
Yeah I know the rules and they’re stupid. In no way should a G5 team have a slot in the playoffs. No one wants to watch JMU get slaughtered and I think it’s a disservice to the P4 team that has to play them. I highly doubt anyone will be tuning in to watch those games other than the fans of those respective teams. The playoffs should be the best 12 teams period. JMU and Tulane are not that.
