Offensive Line stinks

Ya our line isn’t as good as everyone has been saying but Georgia’s dline is the real deal. Cade has played terrible so far. Morris looks slow.
Calbert, Johnson and Carvin should be starting and these “stars” should be sitting

They were bad but alot of it was not changing the protection and they obviously had our snap count figured out. Everything is too robotic with JG. Once a team figures out his tendencies they shut him down. A lot of the second half miscues could of been avoided with checking into a different play, maybe changing your snap count, or go to a hard count and make them jump. They got a head start a lot of times yesterday. They had our snap count timed..
That and Georgia figured out we didn't know how to handle a delayed blitz. Trey Smith in particular was guilty of being over aggressive and helping the center too much when a delayed blitz came from the LB right in his spot. However, to me thats a coaching issue, not a Trey Smith talent or effort issue like some are saying on here. Idk how there are actual "fans" out there that would ever disrespect Trey like I've read in this thread. Its sickening. The young man has literally put his life on the line for the Vols and he's playing injured right now.

Watch Brandon Kennedy on the 4th and 1. He is blown off the ball a yard. I’ve been saying it all preseason. This line will not excel with him at center. Carvin should be your center.

I agree but it isn’t just Trey Smith. Wright and Morris are hot garbage and there is a reason Cade Mays wasn’t starting at UGA.

most everything that happened to jg was because the line looked like a seive. In first 2 games he had time to perform and he did. This was on the o line

I'm not sure our run blocking schemes work against talented teams GA. Saw us slant our line on the snap and the unblocked GA end came around and was contacting the running back before he got to the line a couple of times. Wasn't they couldn't do it they just chose not to. Chaney and Friend did a poor job preparing for the GA line shift. That wasn't new for them. Could have beat it with a snap the moment GA started the shift. Go get set and wait for them to make their move and snap before they get set.

The o line played really bad and performed horribly against the best defense in the SEC. There is too much talent up front and we should be seeing much better production.

Having had a little more time to think about it...the o-line was still horrible. However, I'm wondering how much of that is due to guys missing a lot of practice and scrimmage time. They're good enough to out-talent South Carolina and Missouri, but there's no talent advantage against UGA. You have to be ready for the speed and strength of their front seven and also mentally prepared for their shifts and blitz packages. There were a lot of mental busts out there in addition to being physically beat. Could've been the perfect storm for the lack of practice for that group to finally bite them.

UGA’s D is legit. They had too much speed, size, talent and depth for UT to handle. They created turnovers and turned them into points. We’re not terrible, UGA is just really good. I think they’ll beat Bama next week.

Beat UK, GO VOLS!

I don’t post a lot, but felt inclined to chime in. I agree with what mist have been saying on this and other boards. Lots of problems to go around and yes, UGA D is one of the best D’s i n college football right now. But what struck me, while watching the UM/UA game last night was a severely under-talented team give 9 kinds of fits to a team that should have dominated from clock start to clock stop. The difference? Coaching. Period. The schemes fir the offense and they executed. They okayed with confidence and without fear nor abandon. They had confidence in their coach and each other, it showed. Everyone on here has pointed out the obvious problems for our total collapse in Athens, so I won’t, but at some point the cause of the problems must be identified and addressed, whatever they may be. I’m a Pruitt fan and by no means am calling for his head, but when a team like Ole Miss can put for the performance and production against Alabama, wth is going in with us????

Flame away 😊

I’m not the biggest fan of JG but anyone faulting him for this loss way off base. Not even at the gate.

If a bunch of bulldogs had mauled you for 3 hours.......you’d probably stink too.

I hear they gots nice showers down there though.

some old spice might clear that right up
